Purpose: To study the energy consumption characteristics of climbing themountain with different speeds among college students, explore the changing lawsof energy consumption of human body when climbing Purple Mountain with differentspeeds and in different routes and set up the quantity-effect relationshipbetween different speeds and energy consumption when climbing the mountain.Method: Choose12college students from non-sports major in Nanjing SportsInstitute (six males, six females), choose Purple Mountain (with the topaltitude of390meters) as the destination, climb Purple Mountain along twotypical mountaineering ways: the Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way (a sloperamp, streching2380meters with an average slope of7.5°) andthe Fan HongXian Tomb mountaineering way (a slow ramp, streching4750meterswith an average slope of3.6°), with a slow speed(80steps/min, about2.5km/h)and a medium speed (100steps/min, about3.3km/h) respectively by wearing K4b2portable heart lungs function instrument and get the relevant parameters of theenergy consumption. Results:(1)When climbing Purple Mountain along theZhongshan Academy mountaineering way with a slow speed, the energy consumptionis(310.28±49.33kcal), and the energy consumption is(336.91±51.09kcal) witha medium speed, when compared, there is no statistical significance between them(P>0.05). Likewise, when climbing Purple Mountain along the Fan HongXian Tombmountaineering way with a slow speed, the energy consumption is(421.32±55.60kcal),and the energy consumption is(432.95±60.55kcal) with a medium speed,when compared, there is no statistical significance between them (P>0.05);(2)There is statistical significance when comparing the energy consumption ofclimbing the mountain along the Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way with theenergy consumption of climbing the mountain along the Fan HongXian Tombmountaineering way with a slow speed(P <0.01). It also has statisticalsignificance when comparing the energy consumption of climbing the mountainalong the Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way with the energy consumption ofclimbing the mountain along the Fan HongXian Tomb mountaineering way with amedium speed (P <0.01);(3)There is obvious difference of energy consumptionbetween males and females when climbing the mountain with the same speed andalong the same mountaineering way, males’ energy consumption of climbing themountain is higher than females’, and there is statistical significance whencompared and analyzed (P <0.05);(4) Establish multiple regression equationof energy consumption:energy consumption of Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way=160.629+3.609*weight(kg)-41.699*sex (r2=0.86)energy consumption of Fan HongXian Tomb mountaineering way:y=686.292-1.819*weight(kg)-116.434*sex (r2=0.81)sex:male is1,female is2. Conclusions:(1) There is no difference in total energy consumption whenclimbing the mountain along the same route with a slow or medium speed, but theexercise intensity of medium speed is heavier than slow speed.(2)There issignificant difference in total energy consumption of climbing the mountain withthe same kind of speed and along different mountaineering ways, the total energyconsumption of climbing the mountain with the same speed along the Fan HongXianTomb mountaineering way is higher than that along the Zhongshan Academymountaineering way, but the exercise of intensity of climbing the mountain alongthe Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way is significantly greater than thatalong the Fan HongXian Tomb mountaineering way.(3)There is obvious differencein energy consumption between males and females, the males’ energy consumptionof climbing the mountain is higher than females’, and there is a greaterdifference with the increase in time.(4) Establish multiple regression equationof energy consumption:energy consumption of Zhongshan Academy mountaineering way=160.629+3.609*weight(kg)-41.699*sex (r2=0.86)energy consumption of Fan HongXian Tomb mountaineering way:y=686.292-1.819*weight(kg)-116.434*sex (r2=0.81)sex:male is1,female is2.
