The marathon is an Olympic tradition project, fully embodies the " faster, higher,stronger" Olympic motto。It is helpful to cultivate people’s volition quality, enhance people’sphysical quality, and even an effective form to carry out the National Fitness. Dalianinternational marathon was started in1987, after26years of accumulation and improvement,adhere to the " sports, friendship, development" as the aim.With the continuous development of Dalian International Marathon growth, at the sametime, the level of match is rising,but it also appears problem right now. As a veteran marathon,how to compete with other young marathon, we should analyse that how to maximize thedevelopment of events, to optimize the match, letting the development of Dalian InternationalMarathon become better than now, which is the purpose of the study.Through the literature material method, questionnaire method, comparative analysismethod, this article studies the lack of sustainable development goals, efforts, a small numberpaticipants, media propaganda policy support dynamics is insufficient and volunteer servicequality is not high.Wanting long-term development and according this questions, put forward to thedevelopment of Dalian International Marathon to be better to expand the propaganda. Forexcemple, establish long-term cooperation with the media; establish their own brands,develop long-term development goals, increase the commercial development, developrelevant products; enhance the quality of service, increase foreign excellent athletes tointroduce strength, improve the bonus amount and suggestions, build tourism platform, appealto cities around to participate, add matching activities, enrich marathon culture...
