Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is to contain the decline of the quality of reservebadminton talents and the overall level of badminton in Liaoning Province. This paper aims tounderstand the status and influencing factors of the cultivation of junior reserve badmintontalents of Liaoning Province, for the purpose of contributing to the cultivation.Research methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted in16coaches and180athletes, whocame from9cities to attend2013Junior Badminton Championships in Liaoning Province.Conventional statistics and factor analysis are employed in analyzing the data.Findings: There are two main questions in the paper, one is the status of the cultivation of juniorreserve badminton talents of Liaoning Province, the other is its influencing factors. And there arethree aspects in the status: first, the status of Liaoning junior reserve badminton talentsdevelopment is that the main training age is10-14, the average age is12; the goal is clear,60%athletes’ goal is to enter the professional team; the proportion of the self-interest in trainingmotivation is50%; three times a week training is about46.6%,2-3hours each time is about42%;1-to-2-time contest each year is60.8%;58%athletes don’t think that there are contradictionbetween learning and training,14.8%even think training can promote learning,60.8%thinklearning and training are equally important. Second, the status of coaches:43.8%are agedbetween21and30, showing the younger trend; primary title accounts for37%; higher educationdegree, mostly college or above;62.5%have10training years; a provincial athlete trainingexperience accounts for75%;56.25%never participate in job training. Third, current situation ofjunior reserve badminton talents security system of Liaoning Province: common studentsaccount for70%; the sources of funds are government financial and personal, each account for50%; sufficient and comparatively sufficient funds account for50%, not enough for50%. Thestructure of the influencing factors consists of5factors through factor analysis, i.e. familyeducation and the individual perfection factor, the effect of school factor, intrinsic motivationfactor, communication factor, site equipment demand factor. The cumulative contribution rate ofthe5factors was61.6.Conclusion: Liaoning junior reserve badminton talents development status is not optimistic, themain problems lie in the small number of training people, inadequate training time, especiallythe less frequency of games. It is affirmative that there’s little contradiction between learning andtraining; the structure of coaches is reasonable, their level is high, but they lack of job training; security system needs to be further improved and strengthened, especially in the budget devotionand the selection of athletes. The influencing factors of the cultivation of junior reservebadminton talents of Liaoning Province have5aspects, namely family education and theindividual perfection factor, the effect of school factor, intrinsic motivation factor,communication factor, site equipment demand factor.
