With the development of globalization, the standard of international talents ishigher and higher, so, the English level and student’s abilities of using English havebecome a very important indicator. In order to improve student’s abilities of usingEnglish, our Ministry of Education has encouraged all kinds of universities evenelementary and high schools to carry out the bilingual teaching. Bilingual teaching isthat, teachers use a foreign language (here is English) as the classroom language andteaching language to teach some kinds of non-language subjects in the school. Theadvantages of bilingual teaching are that it both enrich students’ professionalknowledge and enhance their abilities of using English. According to the advantageof bilingual teaching, we can know that the students who will start a bilingual courseare requested the qualified English level and abilities. Students will be better inbilingual course only when they are well in English. It means that bilingual teachersshould help students to acquire a correct and appropriate English learning motivationto learn English well. So, the author opted to research the students’ English learningmotivation under the background of bilingual teaching.The students’ motivation of English learning refers to a motivational factor forlearning English well and a inner drive of students to stimulate themselves toachieve the English learning targets. There is a positive correlation between thelearning motivation and learning achievement, in general, the achievement of studentwith high motivation is better than that who with low motivation, however, if themotivation intensity is beyond a certain range, it would be counterproductive.Therefore, the author made a research on how to inspire and cultivate the students’motivation of English learning, and how to maintain their interest in English learning.After the research the conclusion was obtained.The author made use of the bibliographical research, questionnaire survey,interview survey, and classroom observation to carry on the experiment investigation,data collection and results analysis to the research questions. The main part of thispaper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter is the introduction part, the research background, the research significance and the structure of this thesis areintroduced; the second chapter is the literature review part, the previous literature onbilingual teaching and English learning motivation are summarized, and theinnovation of this paper is put forward; the third chapter is the theoretical foundationpart, the relevant theories involved in the experiment research are presented,including the definition, purposes, characteristics and advantages of bilingualteaching, the overview, conditions and functions of English learning motivation, andthe interaction between bilingual teaching and English learning motivation; thefourth chapter is the experiment research part, in this chapter, the author dwell on theresearch process and analyze the research results; the fifth chapter is about themethod of cultivating and stimulating students’ motivation of English learning; thesixth chapter is the conclusion part, the content of the whole paper, the advantagesand disadvantages of the study, and the advice to further study are summarized inthis part.
