In the year of2012, The Ministry of Education issued a new decree named SeveralOpinions to Improve the Quality of Higher Education in an All-round way, whichindicates that the higher education entered the stage of improving quality. It is noexaggeration to say that the quality of personnel training is an indispensable and importantpart of the quality of higher education. And in order to improve the quality of personneltraining, first of all, we shall make a thorough inquiry of the factors that will influence thecultivation of talents. From the perspective of "Student-centered" learning, the authorinvestigated the relationship between the satisfaction of major choice and learningoutcomes.The author using the empirical research method, taking Rational Choice Theory asthe foundation, and choosing part of senior undergraduate students who came from WuhanUniversity and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, so as to exploring therelationship between their major choice satisfaction and learning results. In the processof data collection, the author using the questionnaire survey method, in the process of dataanalysis, the author choosing correlation analysis. Considering the questionnaireinvestigation is lack of explore the specific conditions of the individuals, the author pickup eight students who got different learning outcomes due to their satisfaction of majorchoose to do semi structured interviews.Through the investigation and analysis,we could arrive at the conclusion: Beforeselecting the major, the students`understanding of it were low, after selecting, the achievedegree were also low, and what`s more, the overall satisfaction and specific satisfaction ofmajor choosing were need improving. Meanwhile, there is a positive correlationrelationship between major choice satisfaction and learning outcomes. Therefore, in orderto improve the education quality, the author suggests: expanding the select freedom ofmajor as far as possible, strengthen the guidance education of major selecting,encouraging students choose major rationally and study seriously.
