Family is like the first school in the growth of kids, and parents are kids’first teacherin it. Family education plays a role from birth and lasts for a long life. Due to the specialstatus and influence of family education, it is of extremely importance in the wholeeducation system. Family education is vital, different education thought will result todifferent education method, and different education method will result to differenteducation status, different education status will end with different influence on the growthof children. This research is mainly focus on the analysis of the present family educationtowards kids and giving relevant suggestion to parents. Hope the study will help toaccelerate the harmonious development of individual, family and even the society.The research adopts the qualitative research method and probes deeply into thepupils’ family life. After the interview and observation of twelve selected parents fromHubei province, we make a conclusion of those parents’ education concept, educationmethod, education principle and education object toward their children and as aconsequence, we have very rich first-hand information for our research.After assorting andanalyzing all information gathered, with focusing on culture aspect, and making use ofCulture Dimension theory of Geert Hofstede H., Culture Value Orientations theory ofFlorence Kluckhohn&Fred Strodtbeck and Three-figurative Culture theory of MargaretMead for reference, we finally define that there are mainly three status for present familyeducation towards kids: Conflict Status caused by Authority and Dictator Educationperforming by parent; Confusion Status result from Coddle Pamper Education andHarmonious Status thanks to the Democratically Guidance Education from parent.Inorder to improve the Conflict Status and Confusion Status to reach HarmoniousStatus, it is suggested that effort should be made in aspects as building harmoniousfamily atmosphere, establishing clear and reasonable family education values, improvingparent’s self performance, and being respective to kids. Meantime, we also found the threestatus probably do not exist in family education separately but simultaneously as well.Therefore all the status we pointed in the research is the core status existed in each familyor in other words, the main status appeared.Family edu cation, school edu cation and so cial educ ation compose the whole education system,each of them is indispensable.Family education is not only one part ofwhole education system but also a very essential and vital one.And the study is conductedin purpose of reducing the collision and confusion exist in present family education andincreasing the warmth and harmony.I hope in the future,we can expanse the survey andcontinuously devote into the research of contemporary family education in condition ofsufficient time, labor and material.
