Game teaching thought has a long history both at home and abroad, educators and philosophers of education have been studied the game and education in different periods of history. With the development of network and computer technology, experts and researchers found that teenagers are interested in electronic games, so they began to research integrating educational content and video games(hereinafter referred to as "educational games").This research has obtained some achievements both in theory and practice and educational games are gradually acceptable. In recent years, virtual learning environments such as virtual learning community, E-Learning, distance learning systems are increasingly being developed and applied, the application in education of computer network value also gradually appear. With the theory and practice proving, the research about educational game and virtual learning environment is still at the primary stage, and there exist many problems such as the problem of combination of education and game, educational game design and development costs and play applicability issue, the problem of promoting the educational game, virtual learning environment application being inadequate, poor interactivity and active participation, lack of communication between users and cooperation and so on causing poor application effect. At present, the scientific research on educational game can be divided into two areas. The one, it is an educational game as a kind of learning media to conduct research, the other, it is the education game as a kind of environment of learning activities occurring. It is generally studied as a kind of media studies, and the articles about this domestic and abroad are more also, but here we have the necessary to research educational games as a environment which learning activity occurred in. In this case, educational games and virtual learning environment together build a game-based learning environment.Activities is the pathway of the learning process, the acquisition of knowledge, the development of the high-end capabilities, the formation of subjectivity are all occur in a variety of activities. The activity theoretical concern not just the state, but the nature of people involved in the activities and the using of tools, emphasizing the community context, collaborative learning, and the ultimate object to the result of the conversion process, so, activity theory provide a new framework for researching and designing game-based learning environment. In game-based learning environment under the framework of activity theory, educational games can be organically embedded in a context of relatively rich learning environment which provide a rich interactive tools and collaboration among users communication tools and educational games and knowledge can be transplanted, at the same time, these functions and features provides the possibility for solving the problems of education gaming and virtual learning environment.The study which contrast and analysis the meaning of the educational games and game and the elements of learning environment and virtual learning environment summarizes the game learning environment factors, analysis of the game-based learning environment. Through the analysis on the activity theory and system, this article combined game learning environment elements on three levels of the activity system, activity subsystem elements and the elements of activity subsystem with activity theory from the outside to inside. So that the game-based learning environment construct under the framework of activity theory firmly. Finally taking Guangzhou Wisdom Science and Technology Limited Company "happy study" game as the background, we designed activity theory game-based learning environment case. We hope to play an important role in the design of virtual learning environment based on activity theory.The paper can be divided into five chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, briefly introduced the research background and the question, and analyzed the domestic and foreign research on the current situation. elaborated the research purpose and significance, research ideas and methods. The second chapter, the activity theory, educational games and game, learning environment and virtual learning environment are analyzed and reviewed. And then we put forward the game learning environment concept, features and components. The third chapter, first the activity system, subsystem and system components are analyzed, then put forward the theory of game-based learning environment design principles and design ideas, finally in the three levels of the system, subsystem, elements of activity theory design game-based learning environment. The fourth chapter based on the third chapter of the design principles and ideas, taking "happy study" game as the background, completed activity theory game-based learning environment design case, from the three levels of activity system and the various elements of game learning environment. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, summarizes the research achievements and innovation, reflects on the shortage, and makes prospect for future research.
