Trust plays a very important role in the human social life. In the early1950s, foreign scholars began to study issues of trust. In recent twenty, thirty years, trust has become the focus of scholars. But the research of trust in China is still at start stage today. Most articles of trust is theoretical explanation, empirical research is still relatively few. After the reform and opening up, with the rapidly development of China’s economy, there have been large differences in regional economic development. This is an important issue which related to the citizen’s life, and has been attached the national attention. At present, China has not yet established an authoritative measure to evaluate the trust. How to measure trust? Whether trust is influence regional economic development? Those have become the problem which can not be ignored.Chinese and foreign scholars generally believe that trust is a decisive factor of a national or regional economic in addition to physical capital and human capital. According to previous theoretical studies, using the method of empirical research and our provincial statistics, divide trust into two categories, particular trust and universal trust. Respectively, test trust with the regional GDP, total industrial output value of the private enterprises, total industrial output value of state-owned enterprises. The results prove that there is a positive correlation between the level of trust between the regional economic development.Finally, according to the results of the empirical test, combined with China’s current situation, we can through fostering trust culture, improving the credit system, playing the role of civil society organizations and other measures to improve the level of trust.
