The new English curriculum puts great emphasis on affective attitude and takes it as one of the goals of English teaching. Since then the English teaching researchers and workers not only focus on the teaching of knowledge, grammar, and vocabulary, but also pay more attention to the affective factors. With the development of humanistic of psychology, more and more attention has been paid to the affective factors in language learning, especially the second language learning. Stevick (1976) put forward that affective factors is effective in the language teaching.Krashen(1985) developed Dulay’s (1977) The Affective Filter Hypothesis considering" The process of the second language acquisition will be affected by the affective factors, and the input of the language will be absorbed only by being filtered". Johnson (2001) considered the characteristic of the language output is that affection is very important. According to the research, the researcher draws a conclusion that the affective strategy training plays an important part in the second language learning. Speaking is an important skill for the students to master in the second language learning. Language learning especially speaking is closely connected with the affective factors. One of the reasons why most of the Chinese students’ oral English competence is low is that they are under the control of the affective factors.In order to prove the affective teaching is effective in language learning, the research was carried out in Haicheng Senior High School in Liaoning province.100students coming from two average classes and2English teachers are involved in the research. The data are from the pre-test questionnaire and post-test questionnaire and the oral test scores of the CG and EG students before and after the test. The researcher compared the data by the standard deviation and T value. According to the data, the researcher gets the major findings as follows:1. The affective strategy training can reduce the students’ anxiety.2. The affective strategy training can increase the students’ confidence.3. The affective strategy training can improve the students’ oral English competence.
