A Study Of Prisoners Re-socialization And Social Support

Human socialization begins from the infancy. Through interaction with family, school, peer groups, communities and the media, we learn social language skills and how to play our own role in society. In general, the people basically completed Socialization before adulthood. When person commits a crime, he is reduced to inmates. From the sociological point of view it is a failure of the individual in the socialization process, and it due to personal defects and deficiencies. Social scientists have put forward the rights of criminals should be re-socialization. State and society should help them learn and master the social norms, and then they are able to re-integrate into the community and play their role in society rationally.Re-socialization of offenders is increasingly becoming an important issue in China’s judicial reform, the administration of prisons and the harmonious development of society. I sort out existing research and found that the existing research results more focus on one aspect of the issue. In the study of prison inmates, there is no specialized research which is be supported by a system of theory. Currently, the vast majority of criminals complete re-socialization by prison education. Therefore, this study is from the perspective of how to improve prison management and based on the theory of social support. It classified re-socialization as micro, meso and macro support. At the micro aspect, the article analyzes the prisoners’ self-support and family support. At the meso aspect, the article analyzes the prisoners’prison support, the social organizations’ support. At the macro aspect, the article analyzes the prisoners’social and cultural support and social policy support. In response to questions, the author from the four aspects of the social system that improving prison management level, strengthen psychological counseling of prisoners, re-establishing family support network and improving the prisoners, put forward countermeasures and suggestions which are in order to improve the level of the prisoners treatment effect and re-socialization reference.
