English is the basic and necessary course in the art secondary vocational school. It has a strong instrumental and practicality. Learning English well plays an important role in the development of the vocational school students. The purpose of English teaching is to cultivate students of the English communication ability. Drama teaching method is one of the methods which is the most to cultivate students’ ability of language communication. The form of drama to English language teaching, the teacher provide the relative free space which let the students mutual cooperate, play to creativity, So that students have the chance to express in language, physically and mentally, which can stimulate interest in learning English, contact foreign culture, help students learn spontaneously. After learning, it can improve English learning efficiency and personal comprehensive quality.The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction. It mainly explained why to choose the topic. This article put forward English drama teaching in order to arouse students’ interest in learning. Then continued to introduce the present situation of the domestic and foreign research. The writer analyzed related literature and the scholars teaching theory. Finally, it made the determination of relevant concepts.The second chapter is the analysis of the students’ characteristics and present situation of English learning and teaching. Mainly introduces the students’ characteristics, the situation of students’ English learning,the present teaching way and method in the art secondary vocational school.The third chapter is the theoretical basis of drama teaching method and teaching design. as the guide of the theory like these:constructivism, communicative teaching method, multiple intelligence theory, cooperative learning theory, the writer chose "Beauty and the beast" from the Black cat English series as the teaching content. Make teaching strategy at various stages. And tell the measurement and evaluation standard after the performance.The fourth chapter is the drama teaching practice and effect analysis. In the experiment, the writer used different teaching contents and methods in experimental class and in comparative class respectively. According to the actual situation, the writer made teaching preparation, finish the specific work of the teaching, make the feedback and comments after the rehearse the performance, Observe the teaching effect. This paper used the survey data to analyze the teaching effect. It concluded positive role of the experiment and explore the cause of the defects.The fifth chapter is the problems we must attach great importance and the revelation in English drama teaching.
