Up until2012,420of institutions of higher learning in China have tourism management speciality. Multiple levels of employment and strong capacity of obtaining employment are main features of tourist industry. However, the fact is that graduates majored in tourism management don’t constitute the main force of human resources in tourism industry; on the contrary, most of them flow into other industries. As a result, enterprises and public institutions in tourism industries are in urgent need of high-quality tourism management talents. The factors of the society, schools, families and the students themselves lead to this phenomenon, while it is a big problem that the graduates do not have high sense of identity with tourism speciality, which should not be neglected.Only when students acknowledge and like what they learn, will they devote all their energies, fulfill their achievements be gained; universities must have the responsibility to give correct guidance to students to form the sense of speciality identity by scientific method, thus they are able to provide talents for tourist industry; meanwhile, enterprises should also offer a broader, more open platform to graduates, place high priority to study ability rather than experience, which can create sound employment atmosphere.This study is based on grounded theory framework. To begin with, it introduces the research background and significance, sorts out and analyzes the literature of identity theory, and defines related concept. In addition, this paper is utilized grounded theory to analyze the research, refines "three-step one regulation" mechanism based on "dynamically selective identity" by open coding, axial coding and selective coding."Three-step" means paying attention to accurate positioning of personal expectation and cultivating personal interests; strengthening comparative analysis of speciality advantages in teaching process, highlighting own advantages, building core competitiveness, enhancing external employment fairness, and offering high-end job opportunities and platform."One regulation" means an important regulatory factor:"others impact", which adjusts in the light of "personal expectations dissimilation",teaching characteristics alienation"and"social environment alienation". In the end, the essay proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions, summarizes the entire research, points out limitations as well as shortcomings, puts forward the future research directions.
