Crises that all the human beings are faced with in fields of nature、society andspirit are called modern crises, which have been threatening our future life. Moderncrises originated from the industrilisation of western capitalist countries, however, inthe view of cultural philosophy, the crises stemmed from the gradual disintegration ofwestern traditional worldview and the system of ethics and morality. Congnitiveproblems should be solved by turning to education. As advanced education hascultural functions of exporation, transmission, innovation, integration etc, so while themodern crises are threatening us step by step, advanced education which has a set offunctions in politics, economics, culture and science and technology should lay a lotof emphasis on function of culture and take responsibility to passing on the essence ofChinese traditional culture. This essay is in a logical order as below. Firstly, toelaborate modern crises in three ways such as their performances, roots andmotivations. To point out that the declination of culture is the root of these crises.Secondly, to show the links between modern crises and advanced education. Thetechnical motivation of modern crises originated from advanced education, thedifficult position for the growing advanced education originates from the unilateralthinking pattern and pattern of behavior affected by the permeation of modern crises.The deepening of modern crises and the development of advanced education interactas both cause and effect. Thirdly, to point out the outlet of advanced education onpurpose of its further development, furthermore, to solve problmes from the moderncrises by the help of advanced education, advanced education itself must get rid of thecult of science and technology and pass on Chinese traditional philosophy whichfeatures as a systematic, integrated and abstract thinking pattern. Chinese thinkingpattern show itself in its attitude to knowledge, and then the views of knowledge areelaborated afterwards. Among the world, Chines culture has the deepest meaning andgreatest significance that nothing could surpass. Chinese traditional culture whichalmost consists of Confusionism, Taoism and Buddhism can provide extraordinary values when we start to solve modern crises problems. By promoting Chinesetraditional culture, can we both contribute to accelarating the modernization ofadvanced education and finding a better solution to modern crises problems. Finally,as to Chinese advanced education, for the sake of modernizing itself to get rid of thewestern developmental pattern, for the sake of characteristic development, for thesake of adhering to ancient Chines humanism, for the sake of undertaking the missionto promote and expand magnificent Chinese culture, for the sake of efficiently solvingmodern crises, Chinese advanced education are supposed to look for a profound andmeaningful perspective. In the criticizing of traditional philosophical basis ofadvanced education, the writer tries to establish a new philosophical basis foradvanced education which is called the basis of ethic and morality featuring intraditional Chinese humanism.
