This thesis is based on the characteristics of how9women playerschoosing a match. The9women were in2012WTA Championships. The mainmethodologies adopted include documentation method, case study, comparativeanalysis, mathematical statistics, etc. The body part is discussing how they have goneup to the top10in world ranking since they became the professional players. Theresearch is conducted with data on level, time and score of their choices and sportstraining theory, on the hope of giving practical advice and theoretic reference forChinese professional women tennis players.Conclusions:1. Professional women tennis players should choose to get in amatch according to the specialties of WTA. The training schedule should be allocatedwisely since the time and periods of a match are usually fixed. The places of holdingthe event are often close in a certain period of time. Players should choose thoseplaces. Meanwhile, the types of places are similar in a time and players should chooseto attend the similar events to shorten adaptation time. The number of the events isalso fixed. Players can adjust the levels to their own pace. The coach, of course, should take the rules of different matches into consideration beforehand.2. Playersshould be aware of how to choose different matches based on their current ranking, sometimes conservative and sometimes risky. For those players ranking0-300,ITF25000is the main event. For those300-128, they’d better choose ITF25000andITF50000, and international tournament can also be on the list to upgrade ranking. For those128-64, they must attend international tournament and Grand Slam. Forthose64-10, they should take part in Grand Slam and Premier Mandatory andselectively in international tournament and Premier.3. The number of their matches isfixed, thus they can only go up in the list by improving the chances to win. For those0-300, they’d better attend less matches to have a higher percentage of championship.Their goal is to improve their own skills. For those after300, they should choose thesuitable matches in order to remain the place or go up in the list. Few of them couldonly attend more matches to improve their ranking because of the poor score.4. Betterplayers have a wider range of matches. For those0-300, they mainly take part in ITF.For those300-128, their main courts are in their own countries and surrounding areas. For those128-64, they could go to international matches. Their choices are mostly inGrand Slam areas. For those64-10, they could take part in any events except WTAChampionships. Therefore, they can choose to attend Grand Slam, PremierMandatory or Premier.
