In order to cater for the requirements of English grammar teaching from Ministry of Education(2003), teachers in senior high schools should change the traditional teaching approach, which is called "the spoon feeding method of teaching"(Wang;2011) to teach English grammar. They need a proper approach to teach students English. Therefore, the author presented this study, whose purpose is to carry out an experiment to test whether teaching English grammar with dictogloss may have a positive influence on the students’ learning process. This study will introduce the dictoglosss from the following aspects:its definitions, the types of dictogloss, and the principles of dictogloss.The author chose two classes in Tianjin Yu Hong Middle School to carry out the experiment. Class4, was the experimental class, in which the author applied dictogloss to grammar teaching, but as a control class, Class3was still taught by traditional approach. Spss11.0was used to measure the pretest and the posttest scores to figure out whether dictogloss can improve the effect of English grammar teaching and the student’s proficiency of English grammar.The results showed that teaching grammar with dictogloss not only can arouse the interest of the students to learn English, but also help the students improve their proficiency of English grammar.
