Probability theory is a branch of mathematics which researches a class of special functions. Although people are familiar with the knowledge of probability, but there are also many people have a fuzzy understanding of it, especially the probability teaching of the senior high school, which is embodied more obvious. In order to enable people to understand some of the basic concepts of probability clearly, eliminate the entire chaos phenomenon in probability teaching of the senior high school gradually, this paper will have a deep discussion on some basic concepts and teaching of probability in senior high school. Firstly, compare the requirements of GO FOR IT for senior high school with that of the old teaching program on probability teaching, analyze the demands of GO FOR IT for compulsory teaching material and elective teaching material, and list the compulsory course and elective on the content of probability’s knowledge materials in block form, and formed a clear system in order to facilitate the subsequent analysis of some basic concepts and explore the formation of senior high school. Secondly, this paper will focus on the analysis of some basic concepts of the senior high’s probability, such as random phenomenon, random testing, random events, the basic events, basic event space, mutual exclusion events, opposite events, events, may be independent events, including the determination of the basic concepts and their status. At the same time, this paper will research on five definitions of the probability and their relationship by the analysis and comparison method. To study this five kinds of definitions is not only in addition to let readers have a clear understanding of probability knowledge, also to pave the way for the discussion of below three definitions of high school. With the above analysis on the basic concepts of probability, this paper will continue to explore on the teaching of the basic concepts of probability in senior high school, combining teaching and practice to raise the problem and find the solution of the problem, through the analysis and examples of frequency and probability to show how to introduce probability knowledge in teaching practice. Finally, this paper uses the statistical analysis method, with nearly five years of college entrance examination papers, propositional content about probability knowledge statistical test and its distribution, and tabulated, make a reference for the readers.This paper aims to cause more attention from scholars on the understanding and analysis of the basic concept of senior high school probability. Through the analysis of some basic concepts to raise awareness of the basic concepts of probability theory in high school and research it. In addition, for enhance the awareness of senior high school probability teaching and come true the accuracy and rigorous of mathematical logic, this paper also puts forward some ideas on the basic concept of senior high school probability teaching from the perspective of practice, presents some teaching problems of the present situation, and the causes are analyzed from the aspects of the learning psychology of students and find the solution of the problem.
