In the background of new curriculum reform, new educational concept isbecoming more and more acceptable by people, and experiential teachingappears as a new teaching model in such situation. In these years, more andmore schools at home and abroad tend to use this teaching model. However,the number of the practical research of this model on chemistry class in juniormiddle school is limited. So this article tries to make innovation on thisaspect.Firstly, this article makes a statement about the concept of experientialteaching, and explains its understanding of the concept from the angle ofchemistry. Secondly, this article makes a brief introduction of Constructivism,which is the theory base of experiential teaching, as well as some researchesboth at home and abroad. Through survey and analysis, local junior middleschool students use reciting as main method to learn chemistry, which is notscientific. Moreover, many schools adopt traditional teaching and crammingeducation method. Based on this, in order to change traditional teaching ideas,reform old teaching method, from the cognitive and emotional characteristics,according to the specialty of chemistry itself, this research bases experientialteaching theory as guidance, and comes up with the strategy of experientialteaching in chemistry class in junior middle school, and practice this conceptin real chemistry class teaching. This article stresses on the detaileddescription and reasonable assessment of practical case of experientialteaching in the background of new curriculum reform in junior middle schoolchemistry class. And through the data from questionnaire survey, this articlemakes an analysis and gets the following conclusion: by adopting experientialteaching,(1) it can help students to arise their interest in learning chemistryobviously;(2) it can improve the relationship between teachers and students; (3) it can help students to become more confident in learning chemistry, anddevelop active attitude to learning chemistry. Finally, this article has aconsideration and discussion about some problems existed in theimplementing process of experiential teaching. At the same time, this articlemake expectation on this research and expect more teachers to participate inthe experiential teaching class, expand objects of study in order to improvethe research and make chemistry teaching more efficient.
