The main methods used in the thesis are documentation method, historical method,comparison method, logical method and interview method.After searching for a large amountof documentation and attending the arrangement of the monumental work The ModernHistory of School Sports organized by Sports, Health and Art office of the ministry ofeducation, I have gained a lot of confidential and valuable historical document related to thisthesis.By researching the development of undergraduate education of college sports since thefounding of new China, this paper summarizes the different periods of its development scale,mode, training objectives, and the changes to meet the needs of the society.With the combingand reviewing of the historical process, it reflects the different periods of undergraduatephysical education development objectively and factually. Learning from history, it providesuseful information for further development of undergraduate physical education. At the sametime, it expects that the thesis can help to promote the development of nowadays’undergraduate physical education.Studies suggest that the historical process of new Chinese college sports scienceundergraduate education can be divided into five stages, each stage of development have different characteristics.The first stage:The founding of the initial development period(1949—1960);Second stage:Professional settings generalization period(1961—1966);Third stage:Cultural chaotic period(1960—1976);Fourth stage:The initial period of reformand opening up(1976—1992);Fifth stage: The steady development period (1992-2013).That is experienced from a single to a professional division professional setting toosmall,middle through a "Cultural Revolution" period of development in the chaos experienceda fracture,then the steady development of the initial reform until after today’s ground breakingchanges in the reform and opening up.After the founding of New China,after four majoradjustment,Chinese sports science undergraduate setting increasingly standardized andscientific,set on the historical development of the professional experience of five stages:Noprofessional;Department of Physical Education and Sports Department twoprofessional;Divided in professional sports;In different disciplines and areas of employmentto set up a professional;Be divided into different professional disciplines.As can be seen fromthe above,the principle of professional division("scientific, standardized and broaden")hasbecome increasingly apparent,Professional management has become increasinglystandardized,based on the demand for different types of talent,training objectives areincreasingly clear.Different historical periods characterized by the presence of itsdevelopment have influenced the history of environmental and social development, and to acertain extent you can see the changes in China from education and social development.Meanwhile,research shows that the development and traits of Physical Education Majorin Universities are gradually improving during different times, and its development is morecalled for by the society, and creating a enormous positive impact. So pushing Physical Education Major in Universities on a faster and finer way to develop has becoming a push forsocial and physical cause positive improvement on all sides.Through the understanding andanalyse of history, and concluded the influence may have by cultivating professionals withrequested quality and kind. Additionally give full expectations on major setup, training goal,curriculum and teaching, teaching staff, stadium construction schooling ideas and some otheraspects.
