Research On Master Graduate Students Tuition Price Issue Of Different Disciplines In Universities

Along with the fact that postgraduate students enrollment continues to expand and postgraduate students tuition reform continues to deepen, the postgraduate students tuition price becomes one of hot social issues. The nature of the postgraduate education and the nature of tuition are the precondition to determine the price of tuition. Education cost and the degree of quasi-public goods of education (quasi-public goods rate, social benefits and private benefits) are the main factors which influence the master graduate students tuition price of different disciplines. This research has analyzed the difference in the tuition price of different disciplines in theory. This research selects29universities directly under the Central Ministries and Commissions as sample, to study the present situation of the Master graduate students tuition price system of different disciplines in our country.Firstly, in theory, the cost of education and future earnings of masters of different disciplines are different, so the tuition price should be different in theory.Secondly, the universities charge Master graduate students of different disciplines basically in the same way:one time every school year. But, on the university level, there is a big difference in charging scheme of different disciplines: comprehensive universities and science&engineering universities mainly use scholarship system; normal universities, agriculture and forestry universities, economics and law universities and medical universities mainly use two-track system; language class universities and art universities mainly use both of them.Thirdly, the order of academic masters tuition price from high to low is art universities, language class universities, comprehensive universities, economics and law universities, science and engineering universities, medical universities, normal universities, agriculture and forestry universities.Fourthly, inside the university, there is a significant difference in charging scheme and tuition price between academic masters and professional masters, and the tuition price of professional masters is generally higher than that of academic masters. Inside the academic masters, there is no difference in charging scheme and tuition price of different disciplines. Inside professional masters, there is no difference in charging scheme of different disciplines, but there is a significant difference in tuition price different disciplines.Fifthly, urban and rural residents have different ability to pay the tuition of Master graduate students of different disciplines.Sixthly, the tuition price system is complex. We must pay attention to the disciplines:refine the education cost accounting; pay attention to education cost and future earnings; improving the grant system.
