Teacher is a crucial element in the educational activities, and the teacher plays adominant role in the entire education activity. Therefore, research on teachers is theimportant content in education research all the time. Meanwhile, the research onteachers’ professional role is a hot issue in teachers’ research.Most of the research on the teachers’ professional role has always beendeveloped in connection with teachers’ professional role in the society and theeducation activities, most of which belong to static study. There are few dynamicresearches on the evolution of the teachers’ professional role. Doing dynamicresearch can further find the exposed problems and highlight characteristics in theevolution process, which is based on to find the essence behind the evolution ofteachers’ professional role; and review of the history and reality of teachers’professional role and the future prospects. This research is the preliminary attempt ofdynamic evolution research.The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is introduction, includingresearch on origin, literature review, research significance, research methods and thedefinition of core concepts and other several aspects.The second part is research on the evolution of teachers’ professional role in allages. The thesis teases out the domestic and foreign teachers’ professional role fromfour stages, including the unprofessional stage of ancient teachers, the professionalinitial stage of the modern teachers, the professional development stage of modernteachers, and the professional in-depth development stage of contemporary teachers.Each stage will discuss the historical evolution of teachers’ professional role from thesocial background, the productivity, and the development of production relations, thestatus of teachers, and many other aspects at that time. Based on the abovementioned combing and summary, the thesis analyzes the process of the evolution ofthe teachers’ professional role.The third part is the thought of the evolution of teachers’ professional role, andsome problems and the characteristics of the evolution of teachers’ professional role.The main problems during the teachers’ professional role evolution process includeexcessive instrumentality, overload, role conflict and lacking in self. The main characteristics of the evolution of teachers’ professional role include developmentwith the changes of society, integration of teachers’ professional quality and singlecharacter evolving into role cluster.The fourth part is the key point of the thesis. Through analyzing and studying ofthe first three parts, this part will design the teachers’ professional role in the future.Firstly, it needs to be a teacher with professional ethics and advanced educationalideas; secondly,to be a professional teacher; once more to be a teacher with healthymental and sound personality; lastly, to be a teacher with professional self. Thesedesigns play an important guiding role on teachers’ professional development in thefuture.The conclusion part of the thesis proposes that the future teachers’ professionalrole should move towards professional self, and to be a teacher with virtue.
