In recent years,with the advancement of higher vocational education, the number ofrecruited students is growing quickly in our country. In order to cultivate a large number ofhigh-skilled talents, vocational colleges have made a lot of effort in personnel training,professional setting, curriculum development, teaching mode, etc. The development ofsociety put forward higher requirements quality on faculty quality of vocational collegesand teachers’ knowledge and ability structure. When full-time teachers deal withoccupational, practicality and openness of vocational education in the actual process ofrunning vocational colleges, there is a defect in their structure of capabilities.Therefore itneeds to hire a group of professional technicians and craftsmen from the industry tosupplement teachers constantly. Part-time teachers as an important part of the vocationalcollege teachers, can not only make the structure of vocational college teachers morereasonable, is also a significant link of promoting vocational colleges "competency-based"education reform. Effective management of part-time teachers is fundamental way to solvethe problem of the construction of part-time teachers and is also an effective means ofpromoting the teaching development of higher vocational colleges. Currently, there aremany problems in the management of part-time faculty, such as recruitment process difficult,lack of institutionalized management, low utilization rate of part-time teachers. Thereforethis article attempts to proposed strategies that could improve the management of part-timefaculty by surveying some vocational colleges in Shenyang.The framework of this thesis: The first chapter introduces the background andsignificance of the study, the core concept definition, review relevant research at home andabroad, research ideas and methods; the second chapter is a theoretical study of themanagement of vocational colleges’ part-time teachers. Based in Human ResourcesDevelopment and Management Theory, People-oriented Management Theory, TeachersConstruction of Vocational Education Theory, analysis essential qualities of vocationalcolleges part-time teachers and explain the significance of management of part-timeteachers; the third chapter reflects the status,founds problems and analyzes the reasons of part-time teachers management of vocational colleges through investigating some managersand part-time teachers from four vocational colleges in Shenyang. The way of investigateincluding questionnaires and interviews; the fourth chapter learns the part-time teachers’management experience from some developed countries; the fifth chapter proposescountermeasures and suggestions to improve vocational colleges’ part-time teachermanagement including national legal and institutional construction, managementmechanism of vocational colleges and multifaceted cooperation mechanism.This paper uses research methods including literature analysis, questionnaires andinterviews. In a theoretical basis, making an actual research of part-time teachers invocational colleges, exploring strategies to solve related problems and enriching teachers’management theory.
