The teacher professional development is a hot issue in contemporary international teacher education and is also one of the factors affecting the quality of school education. With the rise of teacher professional development in the1960s, the research and theoretical systems about teachers’professional development increased. The theory which is from the nature of professional teachers reseach to the recognized status of teachers’professional development, ways and the means of the teachers’professional has made great progress. With the new curriculum reform development, promoteing the professional development of teachers has become the key ways to raise the quality of the teachers education.Although all governments and education departments provide a series of policies to promote and protect the system of teacher professional development. Because of many factors, the extent of primary and secondary school teachers’professional development did not reach the desired level, it is necessary to further explore this issue with research.Recently, the theory research on the professional development of teachers has become more and more. However, the empirical research prefer to focus on results rather than focus on the process of the research and the feelings of teachers’professioal development activities. Meanwhile, many studies discussed external factors, ignoring the teachers’ professional development of personal factors. Therefore, the paper need to highlight the individual factors and explore the teachers’conscious sense that the teachers make use of the objective and subjective factors to participate in the professional development during the educational life.In order to find the teachers’professional development of Yueyang City junior high school, we investigated500teachers of these shools on professional development in Yueyang city by designed questionnaires and interviews with teachers on the basis of primary study and research. And therefore, it is very important toselect survey tools and design questionnaires. And I divide the teachers’professional development into the consciousnessofself-professionaldevelopment, needs, opportuni-ties, conditions, approaches, methods, difficulties and puzzle to discuss the situation of different levels and background factors.Through the survey found that:(1) we found that the consciousness and needs of teachers’s professional development had been on high level in Yueyang and teachers’ professional development needs are primarily research and innovation;(2) The teachers’professional development opportunities are not too many and conditions are in general;(3) There are all kinds of approaches and methods had related;(4)lacking of funding for teacher training and teaching heavy task have been the techers’professioanl development main difficulties.Therefore, we suggested we should make full use of social resources to improve the motivation of teachers’professional development; Improve school-based training system, and create a good atmosphere for the professional development of teachers; We should help the teacher to relieve teacher burnout and help guide teachers to form a good professional attitude.
