Throughout the primary and secondary language teaching Prose always possesses asignificant position in it. Prose Teaching in the primary school,not only can enhance studentsability of reading and aesthetic,but also can raise students ability of writing. Obviously, proseis an important but difficult part to teach in Primary schools.However, some misunderstanding of Prose content and trait exsist in the praticalteaching.In addition,many people thought that knowledge is more impotant than experienceand their teaching mode is single. How to select contents to teach and how to formulate rightteaching concept? Face different types of prose, how to teach prose in a scientific way? Thesequestions blocked the high efficient and quality of prose teaching.In this article, the author first discusses the concept, characteristic and teachingconditions of prose in China. By giving a simple statistic of prose in Chinese languageteaching textbooks published by People’s Education Press and Jiangsu Education Press andHebei Education Press and Beijing Normal University Education Press for primary schooland questionnaires of teacher and student about prose teaching, the author gives comments toreal teaching ideas, puts forward new views on the contents of the prose teaching, and offersdetailed teaching strategies. Overall, the author attempts to make a stride forward in proseteaching in primary schools.
