Ministry of Education has put forward the new mathematics curriculum level. It requiresus to make students master the knowledge and skills, and what is more important is to makestudents pay attention to the mathematics thinking method when they are in the process ofsolving math problems. Concept in Number and Graph is one of important mathematicsthinking methods, whose application refers to the combination between the number and graph.According to the structural characteristic of numbers, this method can construct acorresponding geometric graph and make use of the characters and the law of these graphs tosolve the numerical problems by arousing imagery or through rebuilding the imagination.Meanwhile, we can also transform the whole or part graphic information into algebraicinformation through weakening or eliminating speculative section of graph in order that wecan discuss the problems by the transformation from graph to algebra. Mr. Hua Luogeng, agreat mathematician, said:” the Figures is invisible without graph, while the graph can’t have adeep research without figures. The combination of them can take a good effect in everywherewhile the divorce of them could take a bad effect.” It reflects the close connection betweenfigures and graphs. This essay talks about the Concept in Number and Graph from the aspects of theory, knowledge and practice. The result shows that there is little application of numbers andgraphs in senior high school. Only when we combine the thought with language points will itbe better for the students to solve math problems. Genders, the stage of learning, knowledgemodule and teachers have an effect on the infiltration of the Concept in Number and Graph.Making full use of the results can instruct us to infiltrate the concept into our teaching.
