As a basic knowledge of disciplines,concepts play an important role in building students' knowledge systems.At present,the efficiency and the quality of conceptual learning are not high in terms of geography.On the one hand,the complexity and the abstraction of the concept itself make it difficult for students to understand.On the other hand,because of the limited time of classroom teaching and the heavy teaching tasks,teachers have to shorten the time of conceptual learning,which affects the quality of conceptual learning.With the help of technical means,according to the theory of knowledge visualization,designing and developing visual resources can reduce the cognitive load of knowledge,develop students' thinking ability,and promote knowledge transfer and innovation,which proposes ways to improve the efficiency and quality of conceptual learning.Based on the existing achievements,this study puts forward the framework,process and strategy of concept visualization in combination with the actual needs.Taking geography as an example,it can realize the visualization of specific concepts and design the teaching experiment to verify the application effect of resources.The specific work is as follows:(1)To clarify the core and form of concept visualization design.Through the investigation of the status quo of concept learning,it is found that students' concept learning is inefficient at present.Based on the perspective of student development,conceptual learning should achieve the goal of effective learning.By literature analysis,the icon can promote the effective learning of concepts.Combining with the needs of students' concept learning,it is proposed that conceptual visualization should be designed on the basis of concept icon and in the form of micro-lesson resources.(2)To identify the classification of concepts and geographic concepts which need to be visualized.First of all,according to the extension scope and connotation nature of the concept,it is divided into general--abstract concept,general--specific concept,separate--abstract concept and Separate-specific concept,which will be used as the basis for subsequent concept visualization.Secondly,the author and a number of geography researchers as well as first-line geography teachers divide specific geographic concepts into the above categories on the basis of the interpretation of the curriculum standards.Finally,combining with the relevant survey of students and geography teachers it identifies the geographical concepts that need to be visualized.(3)To propose an analytical framework,general process and related strategies for concept visualization.Based on Burkhard's knowledge visualization theory,an analytical framework for concept visualization is proposed,including four aspects: representation purpose,concept type,recipient characteristics and visualization elements.The general process includes five steps: clearing concept types and content,pre-concept surveys and analysis,presetting learning objectives,collecting and integrating materials,selecting thinking methods as well as drawing concept icon,selecting characterization tools and developing corresponding resources.Relevant strategies are put forward for the respective characteristics of the four types of concepts.(4)To verify the application effect of the concept visualization resource.Combining the specific geographical concept to visualize resources and designing teaching,this study selects two classes in the first grade of a middle school,and conducts a one-month comparative experiment.The results show that concept visualization resources can promote the effective learning of concepts.Meanwhile,the frontline teachers are also willing and easy to accept the process and strategy of concept visualization proposed in this study.This research provides a method and strategy for teachers to design and develop concept visualization teaching resources,providing a new way for the deep integration of disciplines and technologies.The subsequent research needs to further improve the analytical framework and process strategy of concept visualization.At the same time,it is necessary to explore the significance and popularization of the concept visualization in the practice of specific disciplines.
