The “National Fitness Program Outline†promulgated by the State Council in1995statesthat to establish a "health first" guiding ideology is the primary task of school education. Inschool sports, students must master basic motor skills and develop the good habit of doingphysical exercise. College sports is an important part of school sports, and college sportsevents is the main form of college sports. Various sports activities organized by universities,on the one hand improve the college students’ interest in sports, on the other hand also inspiretheir strong desire to engage in sports, and promote the smooth development of college sports. In addition, the success of college sports events can bring many benefits for college: firstly, improve the school’s reputation; secondly, enrich school culture; thirdly, enrich the students’school life; fourthly, promote the development of the college and students.Contents of this paper includes the following five parts:Part one: Select eight universities in Shandong Province for the survey, then do relevantquestionnaires for students, teachers and experts according to the status of all levels of sportevents hosted in Shandong Province. This survey can provide a realistic basis for the nextstudy.Part two:This part mainly includes two aspects. The first one elaborates the developmentprocess of college sports, the classification of college sports and the effects of hosting collegesports events. The second reveals both the situation of students’ knowing about andparticipating in events and the situation of college sports organization and management, through relevant questionnaires.Part three: Use SPSS17.0expert questionnaire R-factor analysis to identify factors whichaffect the development of college sports events in Shandong Province.Part four: Reveal problems and figure out solutions through research to promote betterdevelopment of college sports events in Shandong Province.Part five: Summarize the contents of earlier studies, then come to the conclusions andrecommendations which may make college sports have better prospects. The conclusions we can get from the above research are following:1.In the process of hosting the college sports events in Shandong Province, competitionmanagement system is not perfect. The right to host major sports events belongs to thegovernment, and colleges hosting events only have the right to organize or co-organize, which influence the organization and management of events in a certain extent.2.In the process of hosting the college sports events in Shandong Province, organizationand management system of human resource are not perfect. Although the events organizationmanagers can recognize the importance of human resource management, they do not establishrelated human resources assessment and evaluation mechanisms.3. In Shandong Province, college sports events in logistics management has donerelatively well, but there are still some problems. Most organizers do not providetransportation and accommodation for the teams, which indeed save a lot of unnecessarytrouble for them, but the trouble is transferred to the teams, and to a certain extent, affect thecondition of the participating teams, thereby affect the competition results.4.In the operation process in college sports, sources of funds mainly rely on governmentfunding or school self-funding approach. As a result, funds are not sufficient, which, tosome extent, will affect the quality of events. Because the money is not enough, there is noextra money for vigorous propaganda, which hinder the events to a higher level.5. During the process of College sports events held in Shandong Province, almostcommercial sponsorship will be accepted by all events. However in-kind sponsorship takesthe majority. In addition, during the process the news media are rarely invited, partly becauseof lack of funds, partly because the organizers of conservative thought, lack of awareness ofthe media publicity. Without propaganda, the events are hardly known by the outside world, which hinder the development of events in some extent. |
