Compassion is one of the most important psychological qualities for an individual. An increasing number of researches have found out that self-compassion is as important as compassion for others. Self-compassion requires people to be open about the sufferings and difficulties and to be able to hold a positive attitude to their failures and shortcomings, which means that one must be kind to himself and consider the sufferings a part of human life he has to go through. This paper analyzes the anxiety degrees and the self-compassion levels of Chinese high school seniors by using difference tests on the basis of international and domestic documents for self-compassion. Besides, using correlation analysis and regression analysis, the paper studies the relationship between the anxiety degrees of high school seniors and their self-compassion in examinations. The paper also confirms the intervening effects of self-compassion training on high school seniors by studying and comparing the different tests taken before and after the self-compassion training. The research consists of five pasts and the conclusion of each part is listed as follows(1)The test, anxiety of high school seniors remains an average and even relatively high level in China. Their test anxiety is less influenced by their roles in class and their choice of arts and science but it is strongly affected by such factors as gender.school.family and region. As is shown in the research, girls feel more anxious than boys when taking examination, and key school students are easier to get anxious than ordinary school students. Also students from one-child family suffer more anxiety than those who have sisters and brothers, and the students in downtown remain the highest anxiety level in examination while town students come next and the students in rural area are almost anxiety-free in test.(2)Chinese high school seniors behave well in self-compassion. Their self-compassion level is above average according to the research, and the level varies not much in gender, family structure, school classification, school subjects. roles in class and regions but much in dimensionality of self-compassion. In gender, the kindness in boys is obvious than girls while the overindulgence and loneliness in girls is much obvious than boys. In family structure, students from one-child family suffer much more overindulgence and loneliness than those who have brothers and sisters. In school classification, key school students overindulge much more than ordinary school students do and they are less kind to others when compared with ordinary school students. In roles in class, class leaders are much more considerate than those who are not. In regions, overindulgence in downtown students scores the highest.(3)The self-compassion level of Chinese high school seniors is highly related to their test anxiety level. The higher their test anxiety level is.the lower their self-compassion level is, and the higher their test anxiety level is, the lower scores they get when they are tested their performance of kindness, common humanity and good cheer, while the higher their test anxiety level is, the higher chance they act overindulgence, self-criticism and loneliness.(4)The self-compassion level of Chinese high school seniors can effectively predict their test anxiety level, and overindulgence and loneliness of students are two important factors used to determine whether a student is anxious or not in examinations.(5)Students joining in trainings of self-compassion can contribute to reducing their anxiety in examinations and at the same time improving their self-compassion levels.
