Self-compassion refers to an individual who points the object of compassion at himself,does not avoid the pain,and earnestly and kindly accepts,relieves and heals himself.A large number of studies have found that self-compassion,as a positive emotional coping strategy,can play a better buffer role in the impact of negative events on individuals and is an important way for individuals to obtain well-being.Meanwhile,the life stage of junior high school students is a critical period of self-development,and also a transitional period.Therefore,studying the internal correlation mechanism between self-compassion and happiness in junior high school students is conducive to provide theoretical support and strategic basis for the cultivation of well-being,which is of great significance to the mental health of junior high school students.Eventhough a lot of researches on the relationship between self-compassion and well-being have been done in the past,there are still some questions deserving further exploration.Firstly,the relationship between self-compassion and well-being needs to be explored because most previous studies focused on self-compassion and hedonic well-being,rather than eudaimonic well-being.Secondly,the mechanism of relationship between self-esteem and other variables,such as self-compassion,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being realization,is ambiguous.Finally,most of the previous relevant researches take college students as objects,rather than junior high school students.Junior high school students are in the critical period of physical and mental development in their life and can't be neglected.In this stage,self-compassion trait attention,well-being promotion and healthy growth are of importance to their future development.Therefore,the specialization of the mechanism applied to junior high school students needs to be examined.In this study,we take epositive and negative self-compassion as independent variables,self-esteem as mediating variables,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being as dependent variables,and explore the relationship among the three in junior high school students.We select 850 students who come from grade one,grade two and grade three of three middle schools in shaanxi province as research objects.By means of questionnaire survey,we study the main self-compassion,self-esteem,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being based on the data reliability and validity analysis,descriptive statistics,difference test,correlation analysis and structural equation model mediation test.The following conclusions are drawn:1.On the whole,junior high school students' self-compassion is positively related to hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being;2.There is a positive correlation between positive self-compassion,self-esteem,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being of junior high school students.There is a negative relationship between negative self-compassion,self-esteem,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being of junior high school students.3.Self-esteem plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between junior high school students' positive self-compassion,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being.Meanwhile,self-esteem plays a part in mediating role in the relationship between negative self-compassion,hedonic well-being and eudaimonic well-being.
