Analysis On The Countermeasures Of Leading Ideological And Political Education With The Socialist Core Value System

Currently, the university students have independent-minded, diversify sources ofinformation, so that the mainstream ideology and dominant cultural identity wasreduced and the various forms of the ideological and political education are heldagainst and sometimes even offensive. Therefore the overall effect of ideological andpolitical education is unsatisfactory. Hence, we need to find more effective methodsand means in regard of the ideological and political education to improve theeffectiveness of ideological and political education. The sixth plenum of the16th CPCCentral Committee proposed the strategic task of building the socialist core valuesystem. The18th National Congress of CPC report says that "leading social thoughtand gathering social cohesion and consensus through the socialist core value system."And for the first time the socialist core values are concisely interpreted as prosperity,democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism,dedication, integrity and friendliness. Since universities are the place to develop elitetalents and future pillar of the state, the ideological and political education atuniversities are particularly important. Therefore, we shall adhere to leading theideological and political education with the socialist core value system, adhere to thepeople-orientation, respect for individual differences of students, understand andgrasp the new development and changes of students’ ideology, conduct ideologicaland political education work to the point, constantly promote innovation ofideological and political education content and methodology and construction ofcarrier system and thus lead the ideological and political education of the new erawith the socialist core value system.This essay starts from the origin and meaning of the socialist core value systemand analyzes the leading function of the socialist core value system which leads to the conclusion that: to lead the ideological and political education in universities withsocialist core value system is to integrate and carry through it with every part of theideological and political education thus makes its content, carrier and means allembody the spirit essence and fundamental requirement of the core value which thenbecome the soul of ideological and political education in universities. The essayconsists of five parts as follows:The first part sets forth the study background and significance, status quo andmethodology of the study and the innovation and insufficient areas.The second part elaborates that the socialist core value system has leadingfunctions and can provide value standard for the ideological and political education.The ideological and political education needs to be lead by the system and meanwhileis the practicing approach of the system. Besides, the socialist core value systemsembody the party’s administration and leadership and the ideological and politicaleducation in universities embodies a man’s all-round development. The similaritybetween the two explains the internal logic of leading the ideological and politicaleducation with socialist core value system.The third part analyzes the necessity and urgency of leading the ideological andpolitical education with socialist core value system. The necessity lies in: it is theessential requirement of constructing socialist core value system, inevitable choice offulfilling the talent fostering goal of universities and the inherent demand ofmaterializing the scientific development of university ideological and politicaleducation. And the urgency lies in the value output and cultural infiltration, socialcontradictions during the period of social transformation and negative impact of socialissues, the up-paced weakening of ideological and political education in universities,insufficient university students’ ideological and political quality and biased politicalvalue, etc.The fourth part, based on the above-mentioned studies, proposes the goal andcountermeasures of leading the ideological and political education with socialist corevalues. The correspondent countermeasures are given while setting forth the goal: tostrengthen the theoretical research of leading the ideological and political education with the socialist core value system, to promote all-around innovation, teachingreform, build the realization mechanism and bring forth a sound ecologicalatmosphere for the ideological and political education to be lead by the socialist corevalue system.
