Analyses On The Difference Of Population Outflow In Yanbian Region

With the continuous furthering of the reform and openness, our country’s socialeconomy acquires rapid development, people’s living level keeps increasing and thephenomenon of population outflow prospers based on accommodation to economicdevelopment. In2012, the number of our country’s population outflow surpasses0.236billion, which equals to one floating population in every six people.[1]Population outflow is the impetus for social development, which can enhance theaverage income level of the outflow place, ease the employment pressure of theoutflow place and promote the improvement of the labor productivity level of theoutflow place.Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture (hereafter refers to Yanbian) is locatedin the eastern part of Jilin Province.it is the important window for the three northeastprovinces of China to communicate with home and abroad as well as the intersectionof the three focuses: economy, population and geography in regional economy of easeand north Asia, holding an important position in the land and sea transportationpattern of connecting Asia, European and America. In recent years the populationportion continuously presents the tendency of increase. Meanwhile, populationoutflow has gone through profound changes in age structure, sex structure, flow wish,flow manner and flow direction. The paper would base on the NPFPC’s detection andinvestigation of the outflow population in Yanbian region and its impacts in2011anddivide the population outflow in that region into: provincial population outflow, trans-provincial population outflow and transnational population outflow, highlightingresearches on the analyses of basis population outflow situation, characters, differencecomparison and its influencing elements in the three parts. This paper expects to putforward some reasonable suggestions for the long-term balanced development ofpopulation in Yanbian region and in the same time, provides certain references for thepopulation outflow policy.Chapter one mainly introduces the background and value of the selected topic.Due to its special geographic location, Yanbian Prefecture plays a more and moreimportant role in the land and sea transportation pattern of Asia, Europe and America.Along with the continuous furthering of reform and the openness of householdregistration system, population outflow in Yanbian region presents the tendency of increase in every year. The region selection of floating population has quite largedifferences, which can be divided into provincial population outflow, trans-provincialpopulation outflow, and transnational population outflow. Analyses on thedemography features, flow direction features and social economic features should beconducted in order to find out the differences between provincial population outflow,population outflow, and multi-country population outflow and concentrate on thesedifferences to put forward some beneficial suggestions for the economic andpopulation balanced development in Yanbian region.Chapter two makes simple explanations on the basic concepts and relevanttheories involved in this paper. Basic concepts mainly contain population immigration,population outflow and limitations of provincial, trans-provincial and transnationalpopulation outflow; relevant theories involve population immigration theory,“push-and-pull” theory, dual economic structure, immigration motive theory and doublelabor market theories, which are the basis part of the paper’s structure.Chapter three, as the core chapter of this paper, mainly covers the followingcontents: first, it introduces population of Yabian city, Huichun city and Longjing city,social economic situation and the basic situation of population outflow in researchedregions; secondly, it conducts difference comparisons of provincial, trans-provincialand transnational population outflow from three aspects: population features, flowdirection features and social economic features. Population features mainly includesex structure, age structure, nation structure, marriage situation and so on. Flowdirection features is based on the economic developing situation of the provincial,trans-provincial and transnational population outflow region, geographical span andthe flow direction intention of the outgoers themselves to summarize and divide.Social economic features mainly cover the reasons of outgoing education level,interval of coming home, residence registration nature, contributions to the family inthe last one year and so on. Yanbian region is investigated which can be shown fromthe investigation data that among the above features of population outflow, someprovincial, trans-provincial and transnational population outflow have their distinctcharacters and obvious differences. In some features exists similar features inprovincial and multi-provincial which form contrasts to multi-country, or uniquefeatures of provincial forming contrast to the other two ways of population outflowmanner. Besides, in some features, differences of the three kinds of populationoutflow are minor and basically the same. Chapter four, based on the already-existent researches, analyzes the influencingelements of the differences between provincial, trans-provincial and transnationalpopulation outflow. It selects sex, age, nation, marital status, cultural level, outgoingreasons, nature of residence registration as independent variable and outgoing form(provincial, multi-provincial and multi-country) as dependent variable, and conductsunordered and multi-classified Logistic regression analysis; then it uses SPSS18.0statistical software to analyze all the data.Chapter five introduces the main conclusion and suggestion of the paper. Itsuggests that related departments in Yanbian region should put populationdevelopment on an important position of the region’s future development strategy.Actively improve the economic developing environment, fasten adjustment of theindustrial structure, increase cultivation of professional talents; make related policiesto attract population inflow; satisfy the population requirements in Yanbian regionthrough social public products’ optimized facilities such as sanitation, education,social security and basic equipment, realize policy fairness and service equalization.
