A Study On Current Situation And Influencing Factors Of Daughters Endowment

Rural family endowment problem has always been the focus of academic circles, also it is an important problem in real life. With an accelerated development of ageing population and the advancement of urbanization, the rural elderly endowment problems facing serious challenges. Existing researches pay more attention to one of family endowment officially main body, their son’s behavior to support their parents, some studies have been focused on family endowment of gender differences, mainly focus on theoretical discussion, a lack of rich experience support. This study based on the theory of social gender theory and family system, investigate daughter endowment present situation in En county,shandong province, in the framework of "name" and "real", analyze the influencing factors of the "name" and "real" of daughter endowment, and accordingly, the paper points out the prospects of rural daughter endowment.This study draw some basic conclusions on the basis of empirical research: first, from the vertical dimension, with the development of era change, the daughter endowment transfer from the no "name" no "real" to "name" and "real"; from the horizontal dimension, the village varies, daughter endowment situation presents obvious difference. Second, daughter is responsible for their parents endowment and parents endowment in their daughter’s family is highly in en county in Shandong, which daughter provide for their parents endowment resources is high. The proportion of the daughter endowment which "name" and "real" is separate and "name" and "real" is the same have accounted for the vast majority of these two kinds of type. Third, the vast majority women provided financial support, household support and mental comfort for their parents in En county, shandong province,that is, the "real" endowment. The "real" of daughter endowment is affected by age, culture level, personal income, family economic status, the number of children, parents age, parents’ life self-care ability. The daughter who is young, high education level, high personal income, family social economic status in the upper classes, less number of children, old parents, parents’living self-care ability is poor is more inclined to provide endowment of "real" for their parents. Fourth, the type of "name" and "real" of rural daughter endowment identity is affected by daughter personal factors, family factors and environmental factors. From personal factors, the individual characteristics, the support ability, gender awareness and gender power for daughter has remarkable effect on types of identity to "name" and "real", women who is young, have a spouse, high education level, engaged in non-agricultural employment, high income,good health,and high social gender consciousness, high individual decision-making power are more inclined to agree with daughter endowment has the "name" and "real". From the point of family factors, family economic status, number of siblings, compatriots to actuality, gender structure, the number of children for daughter endowment has significant impact on types of "name" and "real". Women whose family economic status are in the upper classes, who have the less number of brothers and sisters, who have no brothers, who have less children in the family are more inclined to agree with daughter has the "name" and "real" of endowment. From the point of environmental factors, the hometown of Confucius "filial piety" culture, four daughter XiaoQin legend, strong small family traditional village are also have significant impact on endowment types of "name" and "real". Orderly Logistic regression model shows that, in all of these factors, age, culture level, physical health status and gender consciousness of actuality have very significant effect on daughter endowment types of "name" and "real".Based on the above conclusions, this study thinks that although the daughter endowment is a the development of new resources of strategic behavior under the condition of limited children resources, and also a kind of adaptive passive adjustment. However, as at the beginning of a new system of gender equality is into being, the daughter endowment type of no "name" no "real" is broken, the type of daughter endowment is change from no "name" no "real" to "name" and "real" separation, and then will realize daughter endowment "name" and "real" the same. Daughter will become an important member of the family endowment.
