In the rapidly developing technology world, computer technology and network techniq ue have been widely used in the education field. Several multi-media learning forms eme rge with the computer as media. Animation is a form of information representation in the multi media environment. With its vivid representation and easy-to attracting the viewer, is well received and widely used.The presentation format from animation based on computer is a kind of dynamic information visualization technology. Spatial ability is an important factor influencing the learning effect of dynamic visualization. On research of dynamic visualization,the "ability promoting" hypothesis that high spatial ability learners can benefit from learning animation, while learners with low spatial ability can not;"the ability to repair" hypothesis that animation can help lower spatial learners construct related mental model and make up for the inadequacy of spatial ability. According to these seemingly contradictory assumptions and some related research, we cannot know how the relationship between spatial ability and animation multimedia learning. Whether high spatial ability students in animation situation learning environment perform better, or lower spatial ability students in the context of animation perform better.This paper research the impact of animated presentation and spatial ability to the outcomes and learners’cognitive load in the multimedia learning environment.Whether learners own high spatial ability perform better and produce lower cognitive load than learners own low spatial ability in the animation learning environment? Besides, does the interaction between animated presentation and spatial ability impacts learners’ learning outcome and cognitive load. The main contents of this paper include the following aspects:(1) The impact of the animated presentation to the outcomes and learners’ cognitive load in the multimedia learning environment.(2) The impact of learners’spatial ability to the outcomes and learners’ cognitive load in the multimedia learning environment.(3) The impact of the interaction between animated presentation and spatial ability to the outcomes and learners’cognitive load in the multimedia learning environment. Using experimental approach, first college students are grouped according to the level of spatial ability. Then the paper study that different spatial ability level (high level and low level) of subjects’ learning effect after learning and cognitive load during leaning using different animation presentation (control progress and cannot; control progress). The results show that learners’ spatial ability has a significant impact to learning effect and cognitive load.
