Report On Individual Case Of The Construction Of Social Supporting Network For The Visually Impaired Disabled

Visual disability as categories of disability is common, due to lack of the sense of vision, the perception and learning ability is limited, thus has its special psychological, physiological characteristics, compared with other types of disabilities more sensitive and loneliness. The research at home and abroad, the majority did not open on the distinction between the various types of disabled persons, for the study of this group for the disabled, more is limited to the study of clinical medicine, and social work research is limited to the situation, emotional and psychological reaction of occupation, rehabilitation education and reemployment, the social rehabilitation needs and the service for the disabled. The use of case method provides services for the visually handicapped persons with disabilities, is conducive not only to explore, for disabled people’s potential to enhance its ability to overcome difficulties and self care, more conducive to scientific and professional to further explore the case practice method, for the promotion of social work for the disabled in China, in particular has a certain theoretical and practical significance for society work for the disabled.This case report is based on an acquired from blind case as the main object of the report. The initiative to the social worker for help, hope that social workers can provide psychological counseling and seeking social support for the social worker, according to case, forecast etc casework service process, in order to "social support network" and "the strengths perspective" as the theoretical basis, the use of case social work methods, as the case to provide psychological counseling, guiding the client to change the negative attitude towards life, rebuild their self-confidence; in the social worker’s help, the client fully tap its potential, using its own resources and environment construction of social support network.The author in together with the client in the process of construction of social support network, through interviews and sectors of the community, neighborhood offices, disabled, disabled found insufficient localization of social work development, such as the China disabled social work is still held by the relevant departments of civil affairs, medical personnel, led to the government and relevant departments as part of the problem and mutual responsibility; the disabled policy is considered more general demand rather than the special needs of disabled persons. Through this case, the author realized the community is an important social blind disabled and all types of disabilities support network of autonomous organization, give full play to the role of community neighborhood committee, mobilize all forces to jointly promote the disabled work, is helpful to improve the disabled social participation, guide them return society. At the same time, evaluate the case service results verify the views of some scholars, namely the case social work relative to other disabled people working method has its unique advantages, can better meet the diverse needs of persons with disabilities.
