Relative Research About Primary School Students’Procrastination And The Way Their Parents Bring Them Up In Wenling, Zhejiang Province

Study procrastination is an unwise behavior in which some necessary tasks are delayed by some students on purpose. Some studies show that this procrastination not only leads to inefficiency of students’ activity, but also cause some negative mood such as self-accusation, guilty, disturbance and so on.At present, foreign countries have done many researches on study procrastination. Our country, based on their researches, conducts some relative research about middle school students as well as college students, and this kind of research concentrate on the relationship between study procrastination and the school marks. In this passage, the author applies some individual interviews, questionnaires and the chart about817students from three primary schools, and make a discussion about the structure of the study procrastination about primary students, telling us various factors which cause their study procrastination, and mainly discuss about the relationship between study procrastination of primary students and the way their parents bring them up in the countryside, which provides theoretic evidence to correct the behavior of study procrastination for primary students.This study draws the following conclusion:1. The revised chart of Mailgram works well, showing us the study procrastination of primary students in the countryside.2. Although the situation of study procrastination of primary students is not so serious, yet it widely exists and some individual students perform badly in their study. Among the different study tasks, the most serious is self-procrastination; second, they delay the work and then delay to prepare for the exams.3. Primary students show study procrastination differently according to grade, sex, the school marks, whether the only child, migrant children or not, parent-child relationship and how parents care about their study.4. The way parents bring up children has an obvious effect on their study procrastination. So parents’adopting different methods of bringing up children can well predict their children’s study procrastination.5. Primary students can get help from parents, teachers; besides, the cooperation between family and school and psychological guidance can also play an important role in correcting procrastination.
