Characterization (representation) is the symbol of knowledge and contact with thingsstored in the brain, is an important process of cognition. Characterization of the problem is theproblem of cognitive-related information extraction and search, and finally integrate theinformation expressed it, is an important part of the process of solving problems in theprocess of resolving the problem, the problem representation play a decisive role. A problemonly with the correct characterization, to get a smooth solution. To solve physical problemssmoothly, we must first correct characterization of the physical problems, the ability ofstudents to characterize the physical problems that directly affect their ability to solvephysical problems.In order to understand the status of sea-school students the ability to characterize thephysical problems, the paper mainly through analysis questionnaires and cognitive operations,characterization of high school students’ physical problems haixing habits and physicalproblems characterize the ability to investigate.Through the survey found that (1) the physical achievement of students with bettergrades, better physical problem representation habits, different levels of student achievementin no uncertain when solving ideas on problem-solving, when solving the topic into severalanswers situation exists significant difference on the two characterization habits;(2) highschool student physical problem representation habits better than high school students, both inthe first when solving topics categorized into several topics when solving the situationanswers when solving a purpose to find critical mass, when there is no clear on problemsolving problem-solving ideas, while solving the topic into several contexts answers, solvingthe difficulties encountered in the process to stop and re-analysis of the answers to the wrongquestions and topics error causes significant differences exist on the customary fivecharacterization.Through the survey found that (1) the physical achievement of students with bettergrades, better physical problem representation habits, different levels of student achievementin no uncertain when solving ideas on problem-solving, when solving the topic into severalanswers situation exists significant difference on the two characterization habits;(2) high school student physical problem representation habits better than high school students, both inthe first when solving topics categorized into several topics when solving the situationanswers when solving a purpose to find critical mass, when there is no clear on problemsolving problem-solving ideas, while solving the topic into several contexts answers, solvingthe difficulties encountered in the process to stop and re-analysis of the answers to the wrongquestions and topics error causes significant differences exist on the customary fivecharacterization.
