With the rapid development of science and technology, it becomes increasingly difficult to acquire all knowledge about a topic in the short term. Therefore, the purpose of science education is to raise the level of scientific literacy of people. So is the duties of high school biology teaching. In order to improve the literacy of students, we should not only teach them conceptual knowledge and principle, but also emphasize the connections between different ideas. Thus, students will have a complete and coherent understanding of knowledge about a topic, and be able to apply them in a variety of contexts.Textbooks are very important for both teachers and students. If a textbook presents a set of age-appropriate scientific ideas and connections among them, it will be considered high-quality. So it can help students make the connections necessary to organize their new knowledge into a coherent and meaningful whole (Jo Ellen Roseman,2010).Currently, there are several different versions of high school biology textbooks, but the research on the coherence of these books is rare. The current study use a method from "Project2061" to analyze the coherence of biology textbooks republished by Zhejiang science and technology publishing house on the topic of genetics. And in light of the conclusions, this study provides recommendations to compiling of textbooks and subsequent research.
