Andin recent years the total grade of this event have remained stagnant and even slipped.In order to conclude very useful suggestions for preparing for Beijing WorldChampionship of decathlon and event for the future of this event in our country, this thesisuses ways like Documentation、Expert interviewing、Date statistics、Logical analysis、Comparing and so on to study and sum up the results of decathlon top grades of MexicoWorld Championships and Shen Yang National Games, so that we can explore the innerrelationship between total grades and each separated grades and between the single gradesand even and find the main course leading the grade structures and distance betweenforeigners and us.Results:（1）There are significant difference in total grades in the12th National Games and9th World Championship(p<0.01),but only high jumping doesn’t exist obvious differenceamong the single events(p>0.05),while long jumping、pole vault、javelin、1500meters(p<0.01)have very obvious difference and100meters、shot、110meters hurdles、discus.（2）The normality of each single event and each ranking is in good condition in the12thNational Games and9th World Championship. It declares that decathletes possess differentfeatures in each single event, and have their own advantages in a single event.（3）Through analyzing to the score of lots of competitions, it is discovered that100%decathletes involved in National Games and81%of them taking part in WorldChampionships have taken the highest marks in speed class,while19%decathletes in WorldChampionships have scored highly in skip class.（4）By using Gray Superior Analysis, we can see the correlation of the grade of110meters hurdles、400meters running take the first or second ranking in total grade, which arethe advantages to decathletes in our country, while javelin and1500meters running, whichare the weakness to our athletes, just take nine or ten ranking. In the ranking of correlation ofdecathlete,110meters hurdles and shot have got the first or second site, compared to the nineor ten site of400meters running and high jump, which are weakness of athletes abroad, theyare their good abilities.（5）There is a little improvement in total grade of elite decathletes in the world in the8th World Championship. It is pole vault110meters hurdles、long jump that make the totalgrade improved a little.The total grades make progress for the increase of grades in the polevault、110meters hurdles and long jumping.
