Relevant Research Between MentalHealth And Job Burnout Of College Counselors

College counselors are mainly undertaking the ideological and political education for colleges.meanwhile,as a direct administrator,mentor and serer for college students’study and life,college counselors have a subtle influence on physical and mental health of college students,which performs a fundamental function to realizing nurturing all round talents and is an indispensable part of college teachers.Recently, With the rapid development of society and the continuously expanding of colleges and universities’ reform,college counselors have confronted with new problems and new challenges at work,which causes the decline of psychological health level and job burnout. These performances not only affect their occupation development,but also affect the students’development of personality and the health of psychology and the stable and professional construction of the whole counselor team. Therefore,the relevant research between the mental health conditions of college counselors and job burnout is of great theoretical and realistic significance.Nowadays,the independent researches between the mental health conditions of college counselors and job burnoutare much more than the relevant.at the same time, theory researches are more than empirical researches.This article is on the base of former research achievements,SCL-90and MBI-GS are adopted to measure the mental health conditions and job burnoutamong74college counselors in Shang Dong university.In the process of questionnaire,we firstly described statistical analysis on samples,implementing a descriptive statistics method to the present mental health conditions of college counselors and job burnout,and used independent samples T test and one factor analysis of variance to test the difference on the demographic statistics between the mental health conditions of college counselors and job burnout. Secondly,adopting correlation analysis and regression analysis to analyzing the relationship between the mental health conditions of college counselors and job burnout.finally we drew the following conclusions: (1) The mental health level of college counselors is lower than the national norm, self assessments are not much too high;meanwhile,the mental health level of college counselors performances in the demographic factors are:SCL-90of college counselors has no difference from sex, marriage,education background and the title of a technical post;In terms of age, there is only difference in the factor of Obsessive-Compulsive,college counselors aged between26and30get the hightest scores;In terms of working years, there is significant difference only in the factors of Anxiety,the counselors working for3to5years get much more scores than other groups’counselors.In terms of monthly income,there is significant difference in the factors of Anxiety,counselors getting2501to3000yuan get more high level on anxiety factor.(2) The job burnout among college counselors lies in medium level.In these three dimensions of burnout,Emotional Exhaustion gets the highest scores;The job burnout of college counselors does not exist significant difference in sex, marriage,education background and the title of a technical post;In terms of monthly income,depersonalization exists significant difference,counselors getting2501to3000yuan get more scores in depersonalization.(3) The relationships between the mental health conditions and job burnoutcollege counselors in MBI-GS is significantly and positively correlated with Emotional Exhaustion,two dimensions in depersonalization;Low achievement dimension except somatization and opponent is significantly correlated.Emotional Exhaustion and depersonalization are significantly correlated with mental health conditions,and can positively predict the mental health.This article summarizes the influence factors of mental health of college counselors by analyzing the data,and comes up with guaranteeing the mental health conditions of college counselors from society,organization and personage.finally,we study the main conclusion and review the deficiency of this study.
