As essential members of the university’s faculty and staff,college counselors play anactive role in carrying out ideological and political education work. It is an indispensableforce for the university. In recent years, with the rapid changes in technology, thedevelopment of higher education reform and the annual expansion of the university, students’quality shows uneven and students’character displays diverse. College counselors face a hugechallenge as front-line workes. At the same time, college counselors gradually take on thephysical and psychological symtoms, then they form occupational burnout. When researchingon the occupational, scholars became to put more concentrations on the effects of individualself-efficacy.The occupational burnout of college counselors not only effects their ownbodies and their students, but also their schools’ educational quality. Theirfor, concerning thecorrelation self-efficacy and occupational burnout of college counselors has importanttheoretical and practical significance.At first, this paper describes the questionnaire design ideas of the college counselorself-efficacy and occupational burnout, using factor analysis method to determine the collegecounselor self-efficacy is divided into interpersonal coordination, student affairs, innovativework, emotional management. College counselor burnout were classified as three dimensions:emotional exhaustion, low sense of accomplishment, depersonalization. Secondly, this paperanalysises the current situation of the college counselor self-efficacy and occupational burnoutby using descriptive statistics analysis, using independent samples t-test and anova analysis ofthe college counselor self-efficacy and occupational burnout in demographic studies on theamount of the difference, using the correlation analysis and regression analysis about therelationship self-efficacy and occupational burnout, the results showed that:The college counselors self-efficacy is high, in the middle and upper level; Theoccupational burnout of college counselors is more serious, especially emotional exhaustion.Gender and marital status of the college self-efficacy and occupational burnout are nosignificant differences. The main factors that have on outstanding affection to personalcommunication center on age and working years, to emotions management center oneducation background and professional title, to emotional exhaustion center on age, educationbackground and working years. College counselor self-efficacy on burnout has a negativeimpact, and self-efficacy can predict burnout. Specifically, student affairs, innovative work, emotional management have significant predictors to emotional exhaustion. Personalcommunication and emotional management have significant predictors to depersonalization.Finally, this paper puts forward the corresponding proposal based on the results of thestudy from the society, school and counselors, points out the deficiency and problems whichneed to be studied further.
