With the changes of the society, research on gender issues is not only a global political issue, but also an important measure to promote the social harmonious development and civilization progress. Gradually, gender is used in parallel with "often analysis of the scope of human social hierarchy in class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation." Gender equality in the field of education is one of the symbols of the development of educational democracy. At present, there is a lot of sexism in the rural junior high school education in China; almost all teachers and students construct the gender of self along the expectations modes of traditional culture, which hinders the democratic development of rural education. Therefore, the author attempts to reveal the reproduction of gender in reasons, operation mechanism, social function and influence from the perspective of reproduction in the rural middle school, in order to effectively promote the advanced mechanism of gender established in the rural middle school, accelerate the democratic development of rural school education.Methods, such as field investigation, interview, questionnaire and literature review, were adopted surveying a rural middle school in Sheqi County Nanyang City Henan Province. The study has carried out not only a major investigation with grade seven, eight, nine and the relevant teachers but also the other teachers and classes. Besides, this study has adopted some interpretation in relevant subjects, such as sociology of education, feminism, sociology, to analyze the reproduction of gender in rural schools, which get through the teachers’ spot observation, interviews of the teachers’gender consciousness and the students’emotional experience on the traditional culture of gender. Finally the research put forward some opinions and suggestions on deconstruction of gender inequality in rural middle schools.There are five parts in this paper:Part one:Introductions. This part mainly introduces the topic of the study causes and the questions, value and objectives, correlative literatures both at home and abroad, the relevant definition of core concept, methods and thesis structure, etc. to illustrate the background, theoretical basis and orientation of methods of the study.Part two:Starting from the curriculum of secondary school student, the study discusses gender culture of the curriculum content and gender relation of the rural middle school students relationally, revealing the special significance and general features that gender of the rural middle school students is reproduced.Part three:This study understands the status quo of gender consciousness of rural middle school teachers, and that brings about immobilized effects for the middle school students’gender by observations, interviews and questionnaires comprehensively.Part four:The study goes deep into student groups and listens to the heart-felt wishes of the students, to understand the gender culture of peer groups how to catalyze middle school students from man (men) to men (males) or from a woman (women) to women (females).Part five:Conclusion and reflection Ranged from teachers, teaching activities to peer groups of students, the study found that the gender of teenagers are always reproduced invisibly in the field of rural school. According to the relevant findings, the author proposes how to establish the gender-sensitive indicators, to deconstruct the reproduction of gender in rural middle schools.
