How to eliminate or reduce gender bias has always been one of the key research directions of social psychology. The past researches always focused on hostile sexism. However, since Glick and Fiske(1996)put forward theory and advanced Ambivalent Sexism, researches have gradually focused on benevolent sexism in recent years. The latest research found that there is a strong correlation between ambivalent sexism and social dominant orientation, while ambivalent sexism is negatively correlated with education level. The quantity of only children in China was estimated over 150 million, and it is an non-ignorable group to further study sexism. Also, the emergence of Chinese only-child group has also promoted the equality of education between gender. With some obvious personality characteristics, only children in China lower agreeableness and independence, higher creativity and self-acceptance ability. As a result of the monopolization of family educational resources, only children will have better academic performance and have longer years of education.According to the social dominance theory of Sidanius and Pratto, the group with higher education level will have higher social dominance orientation.Considering that ambivalent sexism and social dominance orientation are all related to education level, and the only-child group shows higher education level.Meanwhile the only-child group shows an advantage over the non-only-child in all aspects of ability.According to social dominance theory, the advantage group will have a higher social dominance orientation,it is easy to conclude that the only-child group have a higher social dominance orientation. In addition, the only-child group is likely to have less gender stereotypes, which leads to lower ambivalent sexism. In this study,425 participants in China were investigated online by questionnaire and analyze by multiple data methods. The results show that the only-child group also has a high level of social dominance orientation,in which education level and agreeableness play intermediary roles. The only-child group also has a lower level of benevolent sexism, with education level and empathetic concern play intermediary roles. However, there was no significant difference in the hostile sexism between the only-child group and the non-only-child group. To eliminate gender bias,we need to eliminate both benevolent sexism and hostile sexism. This study has found that the only child group reduces the benevolent sexism through the intermediary roles of education level and empathetic concern, which has certain reference significance. This study fills the gap in the relationship between the ambivalent sexism and social dominance orientation of the only child group, and verifies the mediating role of education level, which has direct reference and reference significance for the future research on the only child group and ambivalent sexism.
