Changes And Development Trend Research In The Field Of Online Learning

With the development of information technology and network technology, online learningfacing new opportunities and challenges. In order to grasp the overall knowledge structure,variability and evolution research in online learning field, we need to make an analysis ofdemonstration on the existing research. So we can clarify the development and changes of onlinelearning research.Co-word analysis is a particularly useful way to analyze the structure of a certain disciplineor subject. From the perspective of visualization analysis in scientific metrology, this paper basedon the related domestic and foreign research and used co-word analysis. Meanwhile, it take theCNKI database as platform and select literature about online learning as research object whichpublished in five authoritative journals in recent years. Through keyword extraction, wordfrequency and co-occurrence frequency statistics, we use the method of factor analysis, clusteranalysis, multi-dimension analysis and social network analysis to research. At last the resultspresented in an intuitive way and it revealed the change and development trend in the field ofonline learning.First, through literature research from the view of both qualitative and quantitative, thispaper reviewed the research status of online learning. And it analyzed the problems anddeficiencies in research focus and evolution situation in this field.Second, starting from the research methods, this paper illustrates the basic principle andresearch process of co-word analysis and points out the close connection between the methodand research problem. It laid foundation for the application of this method in the next paragraph.Third, select the journal of literature sources and retrieve documents. Then extract thekeywords from the literature and count occurrence frequency. Use the method of g-index offrequency words to determine the high frequency keywords. We analyzed the changes andcharacteristics of high-frequency words from three aspects of keywords statistics year by year,focus keywords and emerging keywords.Fourth, this paper made a keyword co-occurrence matrix and got8mainstream knowledgegroups in the field of online learning by factor analysis, cluster analysis, multi-dimensionanalysis. At the same time this paper discussed the network structure of this field and revealedthe implicit knowledge relation by indicators of sociogram, centrality and integrity attribute insocial network analysis.Finally, according to the research process and results, this paper summarized the changes ofthe research topic and the lack of research field and revealed the development trend about online learning research. It provided valuable reference for the future research and practice in this field.The research topics include the integration of IT and curriculum, virtual community based onsocial network analysis, learning community based on network, the construction of networkeducation resources, open education under the virtual environment, autonomic learning based onconstructivism, design and development of network course. The development trend of onlinelearning research main include the basic theoretical system research, present diversification trend,online learning resources research, technical support research and the emerging field research.
