Integer unit is a very important element of the X-type microprocessor, which isbased on PowerPC architecture. Integer unit implement the most of the Arithmetic ofadder, Multiplier and divider. So the research and the design of the integer units is greatimportant.This paper is focused on the design of the adders, the multipliers and the dividersof the integer arithmetic unit. The adder is the better carry-lookahead adder. We canonly get the carry in the inter-stage one by one, but we can get its inter-stage carry at thesame time. Optimize design of carry-circuit and summing circuit make the adder betterand it can implement the addition of two32-bit integers; The design of the Boothencoding multiplier is improved, generating partial product circuit of which is based onthe4-bit Booth encoding and the compression of the partial product circuit is based onthe modified Wallace tree structure. The feedback circuit can get the sum of all thepartial product circuit. So the speed of Arithmetic of the Multiplier gets faster and itoptimize the circuit. The4-bit Non-restoring divider handles the division of two bitinteger each cycle and finishes the32-bit division at twentieth cycle, the optimization ofthe cirtuit effectively improve the divide’s computing ability.Finally, the adder, Multiplier and divider were verified at module-level andsystem-level in this thesis. The simulating and port-simulating results show that thedesign of the circuit agree well with the requirements. And the layout of the final designis showed at the fifth chapter.
