In recent years, with the more stringent real-time posed by safety-critical systems,aerospace, industrial control and many other fields, TTE, as a deterministic networkwith powerful functions, has been born and been in Preliminary use by aerospaceabroad. Not only is TTE completely compatible with the traditional Ethernet but also itprovides high-quality synchronized global time and well meets a large number ofreal-time applications, which, however, can not work well without sophisticatedsynchronization strategy.SAE AS6802standard issued in2011, is universally accepted as the potentialclock synchronization technology, which provides the traditional standard Ethernet thecapability for deterministic, synchronous, and congestion-free communication, andcompletely meets real time of the aerospace, medical technology, rail transit,automobile and other areas. IEEE1588standard is another clock synchronizationprotocol, which is commonly used for clock synchronization in recent years.With high integration, stable performance, the state-of-the-art development toolsand shorter design time, FPGA is in widely use. The clock synchronization modulebased on FPGA is designed in this paper, the module accomplishes synchronizationalgorithm defined by the AS6802protocol, provides IEEE1588hardware support andclock frequency synchronization function, which makes the module have the featuresof clock phase synchronization and clock frequency synchronization, achieving ahighly accurate global synchronization clock. In addition, the portable moduledesigned in the paper with AS6802and IEEE1588features is applicable not only tosmall and medium-sized distribution system, but also to the system with huge nodes.Finally, this paper designs the testbench based on verilog HDL, and implementscomprehensive functional simulation for the AS6802synchronization module with thehelp of the Modelsim. Additionly, the basic functions, the establishment andmaintaining functions of clock synchronization, the frequency synchronizationfunction of the module are verified with the Chipscope, a board-level debugging tool.
