With the development of urban construction, the traditional street lamp control andmaintenance means hadn’t met the demand of urban modernization development no longer,and caused a huge waste of resources. In this case, an intelligent street lamp monitoringsystem based on GPRS wireless communication technology was designed in this thesis. Thisstreet lamp monitoring system can carry out intelligent control and realize the supply asrequired to avoid waste according to the different demands of different time buckets and roadsections to the illuminance.This system realized “three remote”(remote metering, remote control, remote signaling)management by GPRS communication network, so that the upper computer can remotelymonitor the street lamp monitor terminal and finally accomplish the task regarding real-timecontrolling street lamp to increase the utilization rate of electrical energy and to achieve goodenergy-saving effect. In the system, the voltage regulator module of monitor terminal appliedthe non-equal winding multi-tap transformer and the silicon controlled zero-crossing triggerpressure regulating technology to realize the sine wave output and the high speed and highprecision intelligence pressure regulating; the control module took the single chipmicrocomputer STC89C52RC as the core of control, the results would be showed on LCDthrough the analysis and operation to the collected power parameters of street lamp; and at thesame time to drive other modules to cooperatively control the street lamp, and to give thecorresponding pressure regulating command to pressure regulating modules, so as to achievethe intelligent management on street lamp.In this thesis, the whole program on the monitoring system of intelligent street lampswas analyzed and some requirements and main performance indexes on the design of themonitor terminal was put forward; in the meanwhile, and also carried out in-depth study onthe GPRS technology adopted in the system at the same time, the pressure regulatingtechnology used in the system was also further researched. For the programs and requirementsmentioned, the hardware circuit design on the monitor terminal of the system was made,including control modules, voltage regulator modules, current and voltage acquisitionmodules, power system modules and so on; the software programs for the system wasanalyzed and written, including upper computer software design and lower computer softwaredesign. Upper computer software design was mainly for the calculation and display of thevoltage and current data collected from the GPRS serial communication port and monitoringterminal, and the results would be showed on LCD. Lower computer software design mainlyincluded initialization procedure, interrupt and interrupt handler, data acquisition and displayprogram for the monitoring terminal modules. Finally, a test on the monitoring system designed in the thesis was carried out, whichshowed that the system had better realized the design purpose and achieved the desired designobjective. The system can not only realize the purpose on intelligent control for street lamp,but also regulate voltage according to the demand as required, and thus obtain good economicbenefits.
