With the rapid development of technology and the improvement of people’s living standard, people have higher expectations to the living environment and the quality of life.The popularity of the PC and the Internet makes our life more convenient than before, and all kinds of household devices are changing towards digitalization, intellectualization and networking. In this case, Smarthome becomes a hot spot of research gradually. Embedded intelligent home gateway is an important part of intelligent home system, it is mainly responsible for data exchange and protocol conversion between internal network and external network. The gateway makes it possible for users to control and manage their household devices in a remote way.This paper combines embedded technology and Ethernet technology to realize an embedded intelligent home gateway which costs less than other home gateways and is suitable for ordinary families. The gateway use STM32F107VC as micro processor, and DM9161as network control chip, along with some necessary peripheral circuits and interface circuits, the hardware platform of gateway is set up on the basis of them.Then the μC/OS-Ⅱ embedded real-time operating system is transplanted to the hardware platform, and in order to realize the Ethernet communication function of the gateway, an open and free embedded TCP/IP protocol stack LwIP protocol stack is transplanted on μC/OS-Ⅱ. In this paper, the processes of transplantation are described in detail. After transplanting the μC/OS-Ⅱ and LwIP successfully, we realize an embedded web server on the hardware platform, and complete the design of relevant application program. In addition, in view of the communication between household appliances, the paper also proposes the communication protocols and communication processes. Because the gateway described in this paper is designed to realize the remote management and control of home appliances, we also make the corresponding web pages, including the login page, appliances selection page, and various appliance control pages. A user can log into the web server after entering the correct user name and password.At the end of the paper, the web server is tested in the network of the lab. During the test time, the web server has a good stability and quick response, and the overall performances have reached our expectations.
