With the improvement of living standards, people begin to pay closeattention to comfortable, safe, convenient, efficient and environmentally friendlyliving environment. Monitoring becomes a way for people to obtain information,and monitoring capability is one of the important part of the smart homesystem.And monitoring system of smart home is the basis and premise for otherfunctions. As embedded technology is being more mature and the networktechnology is ubiquitous, embedded devices have the characteristics of smallvolume, high performance, low power consumption, high reliability and low cost.Thus, embedded system is more and more widely used in monitoring area andembedded intelligent monitoring system appears.On the analysis of main current smart home project, combining it withembedded system’s characteristics, and give this paper’s design idea. The idea isto design and realize a monitoring system used in smart home area based onembedded Linux system. This paper used S3C2440and Linux system as CPUcore. The main work of this paper is as follows:First of all, it is introduced to the trend of smart home in and abroad and theresearch of embedded systems. In order to realize the design idea, it chooses theCPU core and operating system. Remote monitoring system of smart home isimplemented in the framework of embedded systems. It adopts S3C2440processor and Linux operating system, and has the following advantages: lowpower consumption, strong processing capacity, easy operation and low cost.Secondly, the system’s development platform and environment should becreated. And it includes cutting and transplanting Linux operating system,producing and loading the Linux file system.Thirdly, this system uses USB camera to capture videos and uses streamingmedia server like Spcaserv to complete acquisition, compression and transmission of video image information.In this paper, the experimental results prove that this monitoring systemrealizes the basic function of household monitoring. This system has threerepresentative characteristics: low power consumption, small in size, strongability and extendable. |
