The oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP), available chlorine concentration (ACC) andpH value etc in the water will be changed through the electrolytic process made by the specialelectrolytic devices to the dilute solution. This kind of water has the special function, calledelectrolyzed functional water or electrolyzed water or ionized water. The electrolyzedfunctional water can be divided into weak and strong electrolyzed water based on the differentelectrolyzed degrees, and it can also be divided into acid and alkaline electrolyzed functionalwater based on the different pH values. The acid electrolyzed functional water which can bemade easily at a low cost sterilizes widely, efficiently and quickly without any residues andharms to the environment and human. Based on the above advantages, this water has gained awide application and concern in the agriculture field esp. the prevention and control of theplant diseases, the medical and health care field, the agriculture and environmental protectionfield at home and abroad. The acid electrolyzed functional water can prevent the plant diseaseinstead of some of the fungicides and pesticides to reduce the pollutions of pesticides to theenvironment and the harms to human being. It is also used in the freshness and sterilization ofagricultural products and to eliminate of pesticides residual. It increases the safety of food byreducing the usage of the chemical dosages in the agricultural products in the progress ofstorage and transport. The alkaline electrolyzed functional water is used in health careindustry and food processing field to extract the effective ingredients because of the healthcare function and permeability.The available chlorine on-line detection and automatic control device which is studied inthis article is a part of bipolar continuous diaphragm electrolyzed functional water generatingsystem developed by Shan Dong Agriculture University. The different ORP, ACC, pH valuesand capacities of electrolyzed functional water can be made by adjusting the work voltage ofelectrolytic cell, the mass fraction of hydrochloric acid solution, the supply of water andelectrolyzed acid solutions through this generating system. The available chlorine on-line detection and automatic control device in the electrolyzedfunctional water generating system described in this article consists of the detection unit andthe electronic unit. The detection unit includes the pH sensor, the ORP sensor,the availablechlorine sensor and the flowcell which is installed in the outlet pipe of the electrolyzedfunctional water generating device. The device is working to ensure that the flowcell is full ofelectrolyzed functional water. Four sensors are fixed in the flowcell, and the signal outputends of the sensors are connected to the corresponding signal conditioning circuits of theelectronic unit. The electronic unit is mainly based on the single chip microcomputerSTC89C52RC as the core part and supported by the related software programs which arecompiled by language C to do the processing of the ACC, pH, ORP value and temperaturesignal collected from the sensor. The human-computer interaction is finished by the buttonsand the LCD displays the ACC, pH, ORP and temperature of electrolyzed functional water.The dc motor drives the water and hydrochloric acid supply pump. It is easily operated and setby the buttons and LCD and has a perfect man-machine interface which is really realizedintelligent measurement and control.Through testing and simulation of circuits and on-site preliminary test, the runningresults show that the Available chlorine measures from0to200.0mg/L, the pH measuresfrom0to14.0, the ORP measures from-2000.0mV to+2000.0mV, the water temperaturemeasures from0to100.0℃, the potentiostat voltage is100mV. The measurement accuracyis higher, within10%error range. The overall structure of the system design is reasonable,and the performance is stable and reliable. It laid the foundation for realizing the automaticcontrol of electrolyzed functional water industrial production which has very good applicationprospect.
