Due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization in the process of rapid growth,China has already passed the US to become the biggest energy-consuming country inthe world. It is very likely that the country will be faced with severe problems relatedto energy shortage and environment. Because of such potential problems, thepromotion of the green energy industry is no longer an ’option’ for China. It hasbecome a ’necessity’. Also, the green energy industry has become a strategic tool forChina which tries to lead the world with leadership in a new industry by overcomingits late start in the process of modernization. Also, such a tool could be regarded as abreakthrough for China regarding its economic recession which has been continuedsince2008when the whole world experienced a severe financial crisis. Since theKorean government is also actively promoting the green energy industry with thesame purpose, Korea will walk on the same path as China in the future as a competitorand partner.By classifying the next-generation developmental strategy of the green energyindustry in China in to the ’electric auto mobile industry’, the ’wind power industry’and the ’solar power industry’, this study focuses on individual states and policiesfrom various angles. The objective of this study is to provide a small but effectivesuggestion in order to review the current strategy in Korea and develop the greenenergy industry in Korea in the future.This study consists of five chapters in total.’Chapter1-Introduction’ deals with the background, objective, method and range of the study inaddition to advanced studies, while ’Chapter2’ analyzes the state of the global green energy industry and the developmental background of the Chinese green energy industry together with the state of each industry.’Chapter3’identifies the strategy of each country by focusing on the green energy policies of major advanced countries including Korea, and compares and analyzes the green energy policies in Korea and China by considering the green energy policies related to the12th five-year plan in China.’Chapter4’ draws management strategies by applying the SWOT analysis through the cases of such major companies as BYD, GoldwindS&T and Suntech, which are involved in the green energy industry in China.’Chapter5’ focuses on the effective strategies of Korea regarding the global green market and the one in Chinain the future by describing the possible countermeasures of Korea and theconclusion of the study.
