With the rapid economic development and living standards rising rapidly, moreand more people have realized the importance of environmental issues and theconcept of sustainable development has begun to enter people’s minds. The eighteenthNational Congress of the CPC’s scientific concept of five in one which means toachieve among economic, political, cultural, social and ecological construction hasbecome the main guidelines of the current economic construction. Meanwhile, thedevelopment of the world economy is increasingly showing characteristics ofregionalization. Regional economic union and cooperation has broken administrativeboundaries. In terms of the economic internal relations, individuals in the region areinterdependent and mutually promotional to promote sustained, rapid and healthydevelopment. We analyze the present situation of integrative development for CapitalEconomic Circle and its present problems, and gives an overview of the developmentstatus of its economy, energy and environment. Meanwhile, through PrincipalComponent Analysis and the BCC model, we are aware of its overall level ofdevelopment and coordination development from a quantitative point of view both inthe qualitative and quantitative ways. Based on the results, we get the followingconclusions. First, the integrated development of Capital Economic Circle has takenshape, but some obstacles still exist. Second, Capital Economic Circle has its absoluteadvantage in location and port, but the water crisis and environmental pollution arethe common problem in this region. Third, polarization and uneven development ineconomy and energy show obvious, but the environment presents a relativelyhomogeneous state. Fourth,3E systems’ coordinated developments in this region keepwell as a whole. However, we are afraid of that this is just the result of the average ofthe regional participants, because coordinated development degrees among the13cities have significant differences. Fifth, energy system plays an important role insupporting economic system and the improvement on environmental standards canpromote economy to some extent. What’s more, the coordination between the systemsis based on the others and their development is not contradictory.Based on the findings, some regional integration theories and the actualdevelopment of the region, we put forward relevant suggestions from the differentrespects, such as system construction, ecological construction and structural construction. These not only enrich and develop the existing research on thesustainable development and integrated development of Capital Economic Circle, butalso provide a reference for the decision-makers to promote healthy competitionamong cities in Capital Economic Circle to improve its competitiveness and achievesustainable integrated development.
